Re: Raced several mustangs.

why is it when someone posts a kill on a 93-01 Cobra, some ALWAYS has to say, for no reason at all, why dont you go race a new cobra. It is so pointless to bring that up, you are just trying to take away from his kill on a Cobra which is still newer than his Z, with similar bolt-ons.

PUHHLEEASE... Let me post my own kill in this thread on an 03 cobra vert I pulled. Driving my buddy's 01 WS6 with just a Borla cat-back and Lid (295 KDW's on the back as well), I ran up on an 03 cobra vert with two young bucks in it Goodie, first time I've ran into 1 of these, let's see if they're all these pony boys say they are. I tell them since I have a car in front of me at the light we'll wait till they're a good distance ahead, I'll honk from a 25mph roll, and we'll do it. After all the trash talking ceased and the light went green, I honked 3 times. He initially jumped me, and it was a dead heat in 1st gear. Snagging 2nd, I pulled his front bumper to the back of my driver's side door, into 3rd I put almost 1/2 car or so, and by the end of 4th, I had a good car, maybe a car and a half. I had my Belltronics radar detector going on Courthouse Rd (the road we were racing on at 1pm in the afternoon) and was scared as hell of what we just did. He kept egging me on to go again, but I wasn't chancing luck twice. We just ran a 25-130 or so race, on a road that leads to the county courthouse and this cocky loser wants some more.

What makes it REAL funny is I parked my car at the local Food Lion off Courthouse Rd here, and got out to walk inside. As soon as I step out of my car, a boy pushing carts says "Hey, you wanna race?" I say "whats that?" He says "My buddy has a lightning, he always beats people in it" I kinda smirk and ask what he has done to it, as he replies its all stock, and I just say no thanks. He then comes back with "well, his dad has a brand new cobra vert and he's only lost once in it". I asked if it was silver and he kinda looked at me for a sec with a puzzled look and said yeah. I said "I ran him in a blue trans am about a month or so ago on 208 right here, he tell you about that?" The kid says "Ohhh!! You were the one!... Nevermind man" LMAO... $hit talkers these days

Yep. Anything can happen on the street. You raced the driver, not the car. Good job.

STI vs. 03 Cobra comparison for Car and Driver recorded several low 13 second passes with traction issues for the snake. Same goes for most every other 6 speed LS1 out there. And as I DO remember correctly MM&FF recorded a 12.87 with "Revvin' Evan Smith" behind the wheel of a 2000 SS 6 speed, factory gears and tires on 1/4 tank, at 3pm in the heat of the day. If you're trying to argue that with a better driver, I would have gotten beat... you can go somewhere else with that BS

Hey, that's all well and good, but I do recall you saying that your race was from a roll. So, traction wasn't really the issue, was it?

And if you want to argue Evan Smith times. Keep in mind that he ran an '03 Cobra to a 12.4.

Well said Craig !

My Mach ran 13.30s stock so I believe without a doubt the Cobra (03-04) could have taken that time with ease.
LT1wanabe raced a vert with a couple people in it so his kill is also very believable.
