Pretty good night
Pretty good night
Tonight me and a bunch of my friends raced at an industrial place (where there is no one around after 10) well back to the story. I raced a 96 or so mustang V6, a 98 grand am se, a 5.0 don’t know what year it was (looks like this one http://www.carandtruckforums.com/svt...ustang_50.html) and a 2000 Mercedes s500. First it was me and the mustang (both auto and stock) we had someone cant it down (3 honks) and we took off. I launched at about 2 grand and took off like a bat out of hell and pulled half a car instantly. By the time I got to 80 I had him by oh lets just say it wasn’t pretty like 4-6 car lengths. The second race it was against the 5.0 same thing (3 honks) we both take off I did the same thing launched at 2 grand and the 5.0 takes off as well and smokes the tires a lil and get traction. I had him off the line do to the fact that he couldn’t get any traction, But once he got traction he pulled on me. Well by the end of the race I lost to him by about 2-3 car lengths (not bad for a v6 camaro). Then I raced the S500 my friend’s mom’s cars and we did the same thing (3 honks) and we took off. Right off the line he instantly pulled half a car on me and kept on pulling. At the end of the race he beat me buy about 2-3 cars as well. Then I raced the grand am se so make it short and beat it by about 4-5 cars and then the grand am raced the mustang and beat it by maybe a fender length lol. Sorry for such a long post.
quick car facts:
S500:5.0 liter sohc 24v V8
302hp@5600rpm
339ft-tq@2700-4250rpm
Not sure on the 5.0 (but will get more info tomorrow)
and don’t care much about the 6er stang or the grand am

My friend has a 95 3.8 with cai, cat-back and high flow cat that is for sale now. He raced another friend of mine that has an 86 5.0 with cats, and cat-back. From a stop the 3.8 beat the 5.0 in a 1/4 by about 6 or so car lengths. Both cars auto. The 3.8 also beat a 90-92 5.0 that was a stick, rebuilt motor, headers, cats, cat-back. They went from 0 to about 80 and the 3.8 had him by a car or so.
