Played with Mini-Cooper Type S

Okay, well i'm on my way to Wal-mart to pick some stuff up. As i approach the redlight i notice a blue mini-cooper type S sitting there. As i pull up, i notice a guy in his late 30's i'm guessing, with his wife, and a little girl about 8 years old in the back seat. The light turns green, and he launches that little thing for all its worth! All i can hear is the supercharger whining, i instantly just put my car to the floor..i instantly just started spinning, but i didnt back off..i just kept it to the floor spinning like crazy, i could hear him shift into 2nd..while my car was still in 1st spinning, and we were neck and neck..My car prematurely shifts into 2nd gear since 1st gear was redlined just spining, as soon as it hits 2nd i hook up and hold it to about 85..and put about 7-8 car length on him, by 85..As he pulls up to the light, i see him laughing hysterically, and i see his wife this big **** eating grin on her face. So i knew that when the light turned green this time..no more screwing around, i had to try and get this thing to hook up. The light turns green, and hear him take off again..i get the jump, and jump about half a car ahead..i get to about 30, put it to the floor, and pretty much as soon as i do this i hit a slight dip in the road, i guess thats what made me break traction again, and than almost instantly my car hooks up, i hold it through 1st, and hold it all the way through 2nd to about 95. I"m not sure how many car (bus?) lengths i had..it was a pretty good amount. I was happy, and he drove by me all slow, than he got in front of me and punched it again..but i had to turn into wal-mart so i didnt bother chasing him around. It kinda upset me that when my car was spinning, he was hanging right with me, even though thats what i would kinda expect. But, in another way it made me happy, that i could be spinning like a mad-man..with him shifting like a mad-man..and he's still not pulling away. Anyways, this race has motivated me to try and save for some good tires...i cant let that happen again where i spin all the way through 1st gear and have a freakin mini-cooper S right next to me. No way in hell will i let that happen again. Now i'm sure this dork will be on the golf course tomorrow tellin all his freinds how he hung with a Z28 all the way to about 60..oh well..after that it was all over.

The supercharged version runs mid 15s. Peppy, but slower than my Grand Marquis

Look, no flames intended, but why are you encouraging/instigating a race with someone who has their kid in the car? That's a very stupid thing to do. I will never understand why people let their pride take control of their common sense and race when kids are involved.

from what I read in the 1st post, the driver of the Mini started the race....thus the driver of the mini should have enuff common sense not to indulge himself into a street race....
