Build quality is way better on a Stang. Ask consumer reports, jd power, random people, take a poll, I dare you. You won't like the outcome.

I don't like getting the "feel" of parking a car. I like to see where the bumper is.

Yes they do smoke GTs, stock for stock. And they have T-tops which are cool. The six speed is also a great tranny.
lol.. so you are saying that a fourth gen is torture as a daily driver?? i have no problems with it. /shrug

i've yet to have anyone say anything about the hump. unless you are 4'8" tall, the hump is under the knees.

build quality is way better than in a mustang? rofl! the mustang is better, but not way better. not by a long shot.

sorry that you have problems parking your dad's car. =P

if a ****ty magizine test driver that pontiac Hp mag uses can run 13.1's a good driver should go quicker.Auto's are proven to be as quick in the quater as 6 speeds so if 6 speeds can run 12's that means auto's can. Just because you personaly have'nt seen it does'nt mean it has'nt been done.

Not a single person has complained to me about the hump. I even mention to them that some biased magizines such as MM&FF complain about the hump and they always tell me that it does'nt bother them.
Again I've owned 9 mustangs, probaly more than you. I feel that they are even when it comes to build quality. You should'nt always beleive what biased magazines tell you.No Ford mag will tell you how great Ls1's are. They will nick pick every little thing to try to make the ford look better to make the readers happy.
Heres a good story.A few years ago My friend Eric a www.laferriereracing.com insatlled a s trim on a stock '96 cobra and was invited to E-town for a MM&FF article to take on a stock LT1 z with a S trim. This is were it gets good. they got 3 runs out of the Z then made Eric keep making passes until the cobra ran quicker. It took half the day for him to run like a .01 qucker. The article did'nt mention that though.

The thing is you been on here a while getting sh#$ started for years. You are not going to make the GM guy's on here like 4.6 mustangs by coming on here and talking sh#$ about they're cars.
Face it the only thing that people on this site care about which is faster from the factory. The faster the car you start with the easier it is to go even faster. ie. the same mods it takes to get a 4.6 in the 12's will get a LS1 in the very low 12's possibly high 11's.So with equal mods 4.6 will always be playing catchup.
And to top it of the '99-'04 mustang is possibly the ugliest mustang since the mustang II's of the 70's.
Thats why I did'nt buy one. I feel that buying a '99-'04 mustang is a lose-lose situation.(ugly and slow) they have nothing going for it from the factory.

Still waiting for video proof instead of your useless pathetic attempts at a comeback. Get a video camera or a digital camera and film the 12.9 seconds with a good look around the car, under the hood, etc. to prove it's stock and automatic, it's really not that hard. I just want to see it to believe it. If I claimed a 13.1 second bone stock run for a car like mine, you would want proof. I wouldn't blame you.

It is a PITA to drive on a daily basis compared to a Stang.

I've heard a lot of complaints from many people about the hump. Sometimes people like to bend their knees more and have their feet by the seat to get a different position on a long road trip. I did that on a six hour drive and the hump is dumb.

I said build quality is better on a Mustang, not the other way around.

I've again heard a lot of people hit the front end of the Z because they can't tell where the front bumper is.

Some of these are facts, some opinions. I'm not allowed to post an opinion?

I just wanted to see a video of that run. It would be fun to see, that's all.

I don't base my build quality on magazines. I've driven 3 of my dad's LT1s and LS1s for years and Stangs for years. I think the build quality is way better on the Stangs. But imports have better build quality than both Stangs and Camaros.

Yes mags bias things. I wish they would just print the truth. Not many people can handle the ugly truth. Not many on this site can handle the ugly truth about the Camaros weaknesses. Don't worry guys the Stang has plenty of weaknesses as well. All cars do. There is no perfect car.

I don't want to make people like the 4.6. I just want them to admit the truth. Is it so hard?

I can admit that the 4.6 is slower than the 5.7 stock for stock and mod for mod. Why can't the Chevy camp admit the Ford has better build quality?

You are entitled to your opinion of the 99-04 Stangs.

compared to truly excellent build quality, both the camaro and mustang suck equally bad, that is why. yeah, the mustang has marginally better build quaility when compared against the fbodies- but compared to the best, both are ***.

Re: opening night at cecil

We might as well stop this thread, Beacause no one is gonna waste time making a video to show some boy that has never seen a stock ls1 run 12's. I guess those who have seen it were just on acid and thought they saw it. I mean why the hell should we have video proof, If you dont believe it then oh well man sorry about your luck. I have seen it, seen it more then once and im sure a lot of other people on here have seen it and have maybe ran them times, Does it make you feel tough or something steve y to call names. You get offended calling people f'in stupid b/c they dont know how old you are or how much money you got and youve been going to the track over a decade, HA ive been racing cars for almost 20 years son.......If your an adult act like one. Im not in here to have lil sissy fights like back in highschool. If your that worried get a grip and go search i promise there is a vid of a STOCK LS1 CAMARO RUNNING 12'S. Stop being an internet tough guy, No one has to prove anything to you, We have seen it first hand. Maybe you should check out your local track or something. Sorry bit i dont know what to tell you?

You guys are right. Fu** this board. I'm so tired of all the holier than thou Chevy ****ing ***holes in here. And you guys wonder why almost everybody here drives a Chevy. Because if you don't your not welcome. I will miss some of the cool guys here, farewell to you.

Btw, when I had my Ranger heads worked on decades ago the guy rebuilding the heads said not to port them or I would lose low end. I guess he was wrong too. I'm mean come on he only does it for a living. 97bowtie knows more about porting heads than professionals. Anyway, have a nice life guys. I'm done with this board.

I know plenty about Camaros. I've been wrenching on, driving, and racing 3 different ones for the past 10 years. Good try, though.

Some things never change around here
Been on here as a member since march '97 and people still get on here and act like raving idiots. No wonder I haven't posted or hardly even looked at this site but a few times since about '99. But I'm in the mood to have a little fun.

Camarolover20,
I'll be at F-body central in Baltimore friday having some work done to the car. Drop by and I'll bear witness for ya and what you drive for Mr stevey. I will say one thing to ya though... He's right. Your typing sucks. LOL Also, Cecil is slightly downhill (I think). Either way I wish I was at cecil ther same day I ran 12.9 up here. Prolly woulda been a 12.8 or faster.

Stevey,
You are obvoiusly the one in the wrong here, YOU started a flame war, AND your acting like a baby about it. Not too mention Bob Cosby is a VERY well respected member on many boards. Especially at the mustang sites. Be careful of who you wanna flame.

You guys are right. Fu** this board. I'm so tired of all the holier than thou Chevy ****ing ***holes in here. And you guys wonder why almost everybody here drives a Chevy. Because if you don't your not welcome. I will miss some of the cool guys here, farewell to you.
Hey don't forget to stomp you feet too.

FWIW- My best et was 13.24@105 stock in the '00 T/A. All times on this car was done at Mason Dixon Dragway in Hagerstown MD. I do not have a video of my 12.9 for ya though. A good freind of mine (who has a mid 10sec '90 Stang 310Ci N/A and runs NMRA too) Bill Perkins aka Perky accidentally erased it off his Digital camera. BUT, I'm sure we could dig up the 13.02 run just before the 12.9 for ya. The '99 T/A stock et was done at Cecil County (where these other LS1's ran 12's stock).
