opening night at cecil

Well tonight is the 1st time at the track with the new headers and here is how i did i didnt do tobad but wouldnt of minded a lil better but i only got 3 runs in so i didnt have much time to try stuff out but i picked up 2 tenths with the headers and 2 mph with them.DR's are soon.

R/T.357 R/T.281
60' 2.116 2.129
1/8 8.748 8.755
MPH 82.18 82.07
1000 11.330 11.341
1/4 13.501 13.512
104.19 104.25

I was wonderin if i ran with a y-pipe atleast or my exhaust would my times be better as far as my low end i was lookin for a lil more then 2 tenths from long tubes could it be spark knock?

My car is a 97 camaro a4 and mods are free mods and long tubes and a big air filter

2 tenths and 2 mph is a good gain from headers alone! That is about 20 flywheel hp. What did you expect 60 horses?

Did ya'll catch the bolt-on 05 GT running 11.99 113 mph last night at Cecil? You know, the ones that are only 3 tenths and 1 mph faster than 99-04 GTs?

Your the one who expected more than 2 tenths and 2 mph. Quit changing the story. You said 2 tenths from headers, now 4 tenths. Which is it?

I know what LS1s are capable of. They are sh***y daily driver cars, to me. That's why I have a Stang. As far as i'm concerned they should be trailered to the track and never driven on the roads because they are a pain in the a** to deal with for a daily driver. I drive my car 9000+ miles a year.

My buddy never lost to a stock LS1 in his '91 GT (and he raced plenty) It was a 5-speed with full intake, full exhaust, 3.55 gears, pulleys, DRs, rockers, etc. Basically every bolt on except for cam and heads. He only lost to an LS1 by 2-3 cars with 4.10s, 6-speed, DRs, intake, etc. Stock LS1s with average drivers are not that great. They get great with a few mods and/or superb drivers.

So now stock auto LS1s with crappy 17 year old drivers run 13.1? The bs gets deeper in here every day. Like i'm going to trust a guy who can't add punctuation and has the longest run on sentence in history. Back to grammer school. The middle of a racetrack is not a playground, little boy.

Cletus, I know the Camaro offers more bang for the buck. I don't like Camaros much. If all I cared about was speed for the buck, I would buy a crotch rocket and rip your precious little Camaro for pennies on the dollar.

Ok, I want to see this bone stock auto LS1 run a 13.1 with a 17 year old behind the wheel. What track? When is the next time he will be there? I will try to get somebody from this board to check it out.
