Talking New Corvette Vs 96 lt1

It was black with no plates yet.
Wait let's build to the good stuff.
I was on my way home from the coffee shop, because I wanted a coffee.. ok a tad further back. I was on my way to the coffee shop to get a coffee and had 2000ish yellow cobra riding my butt I goosed it twice, he left me alone and turned to a gas station, I assume he wanted to run lip and tell me his car had god under the hood, so I said "screw it" and putted on to the coffee shop. I really wanted a dang coffee. got my coffee , of course I had to tell the lil lisping fruit cake that change for one coffee should not be $5.12. Does calling yourself a barista qualify you as some specialist on giving change and making it ok to be snotty about messing up?
Well I get my coffee and almost home I have some guy in like a 70sish el camino barreling down the road to get up beside me and rev up. so I move my coffee from the tiny cup holder they put in Camaros and snugg it between me and the console. I tell myself " well I am surely going to go outa my way..... to spill my coffee". we stop at the stop sign and before I could make a complete stop he just nails it. I wait and count 1-2-3 then I shoot out the gate and catch him by third gear. right then someone pulls out in front of the el camino giving him one car length to slow the heck down or die in a firey crash. I swear people suck the fun out of great stuff for what ever justifiable reason they have. a mile later I am now turning around to head back home.
I turn around and get about 1/2 a mile from where the el camino encounter happened and black Corvette shoots past me at about 80 mph in a 35 mile an hour zone. I gas it tad because I there is an intersection coming up that has a rouge redlight that stops the traffic in my direction, even if there is no cross traffic. surely enough , it did. I shift to first and make a loud slow down, as I pull up next to him. the light changed as soon as I made the complete stop. The Corvette driver pulls from the light staged in first, I am staged in first and I bump the gas to let him know I am there, he slams the gas pedal, I slam the gas pedal. through to fourth gear I hear him over revving as I pulled away but when he hit 5th gear he just took charge and started to pass, I hit fifth gear and put that to a stop as I slowed his speed spread. He hit his brakes and turned into the new neighborhood, I went home. I think I had him, but that was a scary race.
If he had been a better driver, he would have taken me bad. From what I heard and saw him do in fifth, he would have slaughtered me. Again though, he clearly was not an experienced driver.
That car looked great.

Oh, I spilled my coffee all over my right leg.
Of course I get home and get told to clean the bathroom and vacuum and all kinds of sunday chores. whatta you expect ehh?

Ok, here it goes.

You seem to be a extremely reckless driver with no car know how. You will kill someone or be killed most likely very soon if you keep driving like that every where you go. Great you have 400+hp or so was told to you. All that power is going to wrap you around a tree and we all will be like who was that asshat that didn't know better.

If you are going to post your everyday street races at least do not fill everyone in on EVERY detail. Who cares if you are getting one dollar back or five hundred dollars back from your coffee.

Now go and learn your car and hit up the local TRACK.

Oh wow.

See that's just it. I don't race every day. Just two fluke days. Two fluke posts. This is the kill stories board is it not?

Then again, Gas prices have been so high for so long, no one wants to race out this way. Until the prices dropped a bit.. I guess.

How nice it would be to say that to the people who come into the pc help forums "Learn how to work on your machine and what parts are in it"

Hey some guys are hardware, some guys are software, some guys are just there to learn.
If my post said that we where on winding roads drunk off our butts hitting speeds over 120 mph with our eyes closed. I can see how you can make that assumption. These are 1st to 5th gear races that are never in traffic.
And no I don't care to learn what's in the car, I have a few ideas of what I want to put in the car as it is already. all new. Pointless to gve half a squirt what's in it unless I need to replace it.

I do not want to get into a pissing match but you did state that someone pulled out while you and the El Camino were going at it.

Also 5th gear in a 400+hp car with a stock T56 will be well into the 120s so that is a mute point.

I was just stating the learn your car because unless your engine knowledge level ups a bit no one is going to believe you about the high end car kills.

This is also the TRACK kills section. You seemingly missed a word in your description.

Ok, and unless you are a modderator, please refrain from posting in threads you do not like.
There is a name for it, it's called flaming a thread.
I never said I knew nothing about engine work. I just said I bought the car used and getting information of what's in it without disassembling the motor and googling parts numbers, while missing a few days of work is not my idea of great plans.
I see other posts in here that talk about stuff other than a "track".
Please you like camaros , I like camaros chill out.

racing

Yea Dont race in heavy traffic bad I had similar prob 06 08 vette conv, messing with me 2 miles with his chick so I waited till no cars a mile down the road and just hit 3 gear and punched left him like 2 bus lengths, those cars have top end my car is full bolt on and his top end was good. He did fly by on me tried to catch him but did not want to be crazy and wreckless, but ill tell you this its not worth racing the new vettes unless your modded there fast top end. There 12.5 12.3 in 1/4 cars... conv are 40 pounds heavier than hard top. Just be safe

Yeah the Near accident, some dill hole pulled right out from a street, He didn't even look, didn't even stop at the stop sign. He was doing like 15-20 mph when he made the turn. Early nineties honda with his viser cap turned upside down,. Full blown ricer.. I woul have jumped in front of him and stopped him to tell him off, but I am pretty sure he would ask me what I did with my mullet ..

LOL.

I will assume you are an adult....Now with that assumption I will shake my head. You do know you are in Texas, right?

If you stopped in front of someone and got out of you car to confront them, they could have shot you thinking you were trying to cause them bodily harm. And in Texas thats legal.

I think Mikie does a fine job as a mod but too often these near death experiences come up here with even ricer boys as the innocent would be victims of reckless driving. If there was an accident BOTH you and the El Camino driver would be in prison for manslaughter.

DC is right on target with this one. I think this is an example of a kill that should not have been attempted.
Im going to close this one down in the best interest of Jason, Chris and CZ28.com

That is all
