94 firebird vs. 99 trans am

It was the last day open for my local track and I decided to take my bracket car to the track. Two of my buddies running LS1's one being and firehawk and the other being the trans am I raced. He had just got this car broke in with a H/C setup with full exhaust and 4.10 gears. I had been running 8.4X (1/8th mile) all day and was getting ready to pack it up because it kept missing but I decided to see if he wanted to race. He had gotten into the 8.3Xs and was pretty confident he could take me. I pretty much hot lapped my car on this race and when we left the car just came alive. I ran 8.27@84.30 mph with a 1.876 60' time(my fastest times and speed ever). when we got back he was speechless. he couldnt believe a pulled the time with my mods in my sig. I think his car has quit a bit more but I'm pleased with the outcome either way.

Good run.

But something's wrong here. 94 Firebird is a V6 which could never get an 8.x in the 1/8 without a buttload of mods including a power adder.

LT1 swap? Firebird Formula?

And did I read this right, the LS1 your buddy has runs 8.3's with heads and cam? My cam only LS1 runs 7.3's to 7.5's in the 1/8 mile. A heads and cam LS1 (even a mild setup) should do at least mid 7's if not better.

It's a formula but I kind of guess people would figure that out with the mods in my sig. and yeah it should run a hell of alot better but then again my other friend that was there has a 408 cu. in. stroker only runs 7.5X and it was dynoed around 475. I guess the M6 just dont do it for them.....

Holy crap! I guess they need the driver mod

Makes me happy I have a stalled auto. I can lift my front tires, scream down the track, have a computer shift fast and flawless, take the win and all while drinking a cup of coffee
