New 2005 Mustang GT 1/4 mile run
Re: New 2005 Mustang GT 1/4 mile run
Supposedly they will have 290-295 rwhp bone stock. I seriously doubt that. The best stock n/a 4 valve 4.6s only made 280 rwhp stock and I know the 4 valve heads flow better than the 3 valve heads. They also weigh 100-200 lbs. more than the current GT. They will probably run mid 13s with a good driver stock. That was a horrible showing for a new GT.

Today, we've got factory Corvettes that can run low 12s-high 11s, Vipers going 11s, F-bodies going low 13s, Cobras going easy 12s, family sedans going 14s, pickup trucks going 12s-13s...
So a high 13 sec. car, while still fairly quick (and quicker than in the past), isn't that impressive by today's standards.
