So this guy here at work just traded his 04 GTP for a 06 GXP and is talking smack about how he can now take me. This GXP has the LS4 with 303HP and 323Lb-ft torque and A4. I havent had my car to the dyno but should be in the same Hp range with the mods I have. Have any of you had the opportunity to run one of these? We are going to go out on Saturday and see how far in the dust I can leave him . What are your thoughts on this, will he be a good match for my Z.

I would hope with all the crap listed in your thread you make more than 303 HP...that would be a gain of 18 ...unless you mean you have 303 RWHP to his 303 crank...or somekinda cam means stock...I dunno what the new GP weighs but GM cars IMO are progressivly getting fatter...and the tranny in it sucks nuts...if I had a dollar I would bet it on you...

Then It should be a cake walk on this guy. I need to do some research on his car so I can explain his weeknesses and save my gas.

I list my cam as "Some kind of Cam" because I got the car from a dealer and the guy that owned the car before me put most of the mods on including the Cam. I know a friend of the previous owner and he said two weeks after he traded the car in, he went IRAQ and hasen't come back. So I don't know what cam is running in my engine.

Just race him. I would really like to know how it does against you, because I've been looking at those today. Thinking about one for a quick fam kinda car.

 

I think the 04 GTPs are pretty quick (love the comp G) so id love to see what the gxp can do.

 

Wasn't that about what the old 260 HP/280 FT-LBS. GTP was good for?

I guess there wasn't much performance enhancement with the V8.
