As i said in the previous post I had planned on racing this guy with the 04 Mach 1 tonight. Yes the car is a 5 speed and mine is an auto. Well he called me and we met up along with some other friends and took it to the interstate. We went from 25mph (1st gear) and his Mach 1 never had the lead on me not even for a split second. My Z28 pulled out and I only had about a car 1/2 on him. I gradually kept pulling on him and by the time I let out at 130mph I had every bit of 3 cars on him, maybe just a hair more. The race went just about like I had planned. However I did not think I would beat him that much. Yes he can drive, and 5 speed is all the kid has ever owned and he is a regular down at the local drag strip. His friend road with me and mine road with him. They both told me he had very smooth shifts, not missing a gear or hitting the rev limiter once. So there ya go boys! For everyone wanting to know if they can hang or beat a new 03 or 04 Mach 1 the answer is yes. Keep in mind both cars are completely bone stock in every way shape and form. I have 2 video's from the race, one from the Mach 1 and one from another friends car that was behind us. If i knew how to upload them to the computer I would post a link and let yall watch. But anyways, take it easy!

 

Right on. Mach 1's and Z28 are pretty much even. But if they don't pull you out the whole it's basically over since the LS1 will pull away on the top end.

Sounds like a great kill to me!

On the top end its hard to beat the HP pull of the LS1. I have one encounter so far with an 02 TA M6 that I could hold with pretty even up until the 110 mph mark then the LS1 starts pulling.

Both cars can run low 13s in the 1/4 bone stock and is really a drivers race in my opinion.

Great looking car Mike! Thats exactly like the one i almost bought. i was actually on my way to buy the black mach 1 and passed by another car lot where my z-28 was sitting. i turned around and went and drove it and was sold after that. But does anyone know how to get this video downloaded onto the internet? anyone wanna host for me? thanks!

I''ve never been a mustang fan, but I love the Mach 1s. I would take a Mach over a Cobra to be honest. And that Azure Blue is possibly the best looking color in the world!! At the same time, I'm bias to black sports cars to (mine) so yea, Mike your's looks bad as well. I just moved up to college about 2 months ago so I see pleeeeeenty of mustangs up here. Yet I haven't saw many if any Mach 1s, a couple cobras, a saleen convertible, but no machs. So I haven't had a chance to run one yet.

Oh yea, back to the subject, good kill on the mach.

 

I still think the shaker hood is neato. lol
