funny how this works both ways isnt it? spending thousands of dollars to beat a stock ferrari. woohoo.

Except that a Ferrari is an actual performance car, and not a gas sipping 4 banger with bolt ons!

so getting over 30 mpg when not under boost is a bad thing???????

i've got a '98 TA with an A4....what would happen if i tried to match the power of that Prelude with stage 2 heads cam and full exhaust? 13-15 mpg? it's getting 19-20 (70% highway and very little racing) now with a few mild bolt-ons and 93 octane is $2.10 /gal ....and i drive 50-55 miles per day. i put around 25k miles in a year.

25k / 19 = 1316 gal gas x $2.10 = $2763/yr. 25k / 14 = 1786/gal x $2.10 = $3750.

that's $987 more per year or $82/month in gas. and this is assuming that i drive it moderately. but with new power, you will WOT more often and that 14mpg will drop to 10 mpg easy.

this ignorant bull**** is embarrassing
and you've never driven a Prelude with ATA before haven't you. holy **** that car handles well. it is an amazing handler for a car of that price. you think our front heavy, solid rear...and overall, much heavier car..... can compete with a stock Prelude in the twisties assuming that driver skills are equal?

Wow I feel very sorry for you Only 20mpg? I guess you should have got a 6 speed. I got 34mpg last year when I bought it and on my last trip I made I got 30mpg. I will smoke any bolton Prelude also. Also, if any of us 4th gen owners wanted to compete in the twisties with a prelude don't you think we would have bought a car that was made for the twisties and not straight line racing? Put an automatic behind that prelude like your T/A and lets see if it gets the same gas mileage and reliability.

well drive to work in bumper to bumper traffic for 1.5 hours each way and then tell me you want a 6spd.

I got 34mpg last year when I bought it and on my last trip I made I got 30mpg.
the keyword here is trip....highways....cruising speeds for long extended period of time with little stop and go traffic.... unless you go on a trip everyday, you won't get 34 mpg.

that's nice.

i bought a Trans Am LS1 convertible with A4 because i like convertibles, i like the power i was getting at a cheap price....i like a 4 seater (so no C5).....and i like not shifting a 6spd in rush hour Wash DC traffic....i didn't buy the car to race in a straightline only...nor did i buy it to race in the twisties..... i bought it to be my daily driver.....if i lose to a Prelude in the twisties or in a straight line, i don't cry and make up excuses about it....i'm a big boy now.

Put an automatic behind that prelude like your T/A and lets see if it gets the same gas mileage and reliability.
my 1990 Honda Accord LX 4cyl with 150k miles and auto use to get around 28 mpg going on the same route that i use with the T/A.

Beating a Ferrari in a lowly F-body is definitely fun. Congrats on the kill.

I still fondly remember taking down an older Ferrari in my dead-stock 94 Formula a few years ago. It was a 308, I think (the Magnum P.I. Ferrari). It took all day to wipe the grin off my face.

I posted my 360 kill a while back, definitly a good time. I have beaten 2 Ferarri's and got spanked by a Lambo Diablo VT. There is a new Lambo Gallardo that I've been seeing a lot lately, may have to chase him down one night. Good kill!

PS: at least you got your kill on tape, my camera was in the back seat, and we couldn't get it out in time!
