Me vs corvette Lt1?

Who would win, the corvette only has a "chip" in it from what I hear. All my mods are in sig except for my cat converter is cut off.

The Vette auto can run 103+ or so stock, I've seen them do it many times. Should be a close race.

Should be, I dont know how offen he drives it, this guy might just smoke the tires. the day I go to race him ill definently be taking out all unessary eqipment. I know he already has the weight advantage. Do you think my car can run 103's in the quarter now? Last time I went (before the gears) I ran 99.

well i have a 94 vette and the best i have ran is a 13.6 at 103 but it was on a 2.1 60... which is pretty bad. Its completely stock.

The camaro in my sig, my 97, i have quite a few bolt ons and i could only ever muster out a 13.7 once and that was also right at 103, believe it was like 102.8 or something. 2.2 - 2.3 60' times on my camaro, i had way bad tires on my camaro so i couldnt hook.. i was hooking with my vette but i was not launching hard due to bad halfshaft u-joints

Its basically a drivers race in my opinion

LT1 Vettes are that quick? I had no idea. What is the difference? I would have guessed that they would run about the same as an F-car.

they are noticeably quicker - i've driven one (an M6 same year as my Transam and with similar mods) and it felt quicker and lighter on it's feet. i'm guessing an fbody will need a 20-30 hp advantage on the vette to beat it.

Why are they so much quicker exactly? They don't weigh that much less.

lt1 vettes are at least 150-200 pounds lighter. our cars are longer, and have back seats and all the added chassis and metal that comes with the extra 12 inches or so of rolling mass to haul around. they also come out of the box with a 15-25 hp advantage. so, we will not only have to mod-up to make our power equal to a vettes (at which point the vette is still faster cuz it's lighter), we also have to add even more power to surpass the 200 pound weight penalty we haul around.

My 95 automatic Convertible vette ran a 13.5 my first time ever on a drag strip. If I remember correctly my 60' was about 2.0' or 2.1'. This was in the high 80's temps with street tires. It was completely stock at the time. Air filter, exhaust, tune, full weight, etc., all factory. Also the coupes are a bit lighter. I have heard of some getting into the high 12's with the stick and some DR's only. For a stock automatic in good shape I would expect low to mid 13's with a good driver.

There is a big difference between the early C'4 and later models with the LT1. An earlier C4 would be a close race.

I highly dout someone has ran a high 12 on a stock lt1 in a vette, thats shaving 1000 lbs off the camaro to get that even...
