i've smoked quite a bit of 3.4's in my friends stock V6 Camry, nuff said.96-98GTs are not turds, they might be pigs but not turds. They generally trap about 92ish MPH (5sp.)while 2 of my friends lightly modded 3.4's (high flow cats, exhaust and CAI,pullies) run about 82MPH which might get them out of the 16's (if lucky) .

For what the 98 gt is, it is a turd. Yes i Know the 3.4 is but dude its a v6, and its not a very big one, I would expect those mustangs to be a little faster than that being its a v8. I dont think people give enough credit to the v6's. Ive had my share of really good races where I should not have come close to winning. Bring your buds camry or a 98 stang, Im sure it will be a lot closer than you think.

To tell the truth , Anyperson in a 98 GT 5 speed , should be able to hand a 95 , plo green , six cylinder his ars .....A 98 gt " most " should run at least a 14.8 "w/decent driver " as to where a 95 V6 should run a 17...If you can keep up with them thats cool , but It may have a bit to do w/the driver . I have drove a few 6 cyl camaro's prior to 98 and I felt I could got there faster in my corsica .....Im not kidding or knocking im just telling the truth ....

well my buddy's 3.8 has 3:42's so I think that is the reason for him beating all of these mustangs off the line. well, his parents bought him that car when he turned 16, he is saving for an ls1 six speed. I like his car, he has never lost to anything less then a v8 with something done to it. And we have been in at least 150 races in his car.

well thats your opinion, and your entilted to it. Im not saying that I could totally kill one, which may be what your thinking of, but for the most part, keep up with it. I think it all has to do with driver, and other circumstances, I dont want to turn this into a v6 camaros suck flame war, I could care less if you are knocking or not, its my first car and it would be pretty stupid of my parents to let me buy anthing fast, and I really doubt your corsica could get there faster.

Let's cut out this opinion bs. What does your car run? High 16s? Stock '98 GTs run high 14s with a decent driver (low 14s with a killer driver). You lose bad! No opinion, only fact.

Well, ALL I mean ALL I have seen out at the race track are running 15.5 or somwhere in there, maybe they are ****ty drivers, but dont jump all over my *** because What I see out here the things are running 15.5 and I do go to the track quite often. Yes steve, you have proved me once again that my car is a 16 second car, woohoo for you, itleast its not a v8 running in with times of 15.5. I dont know why they all run like that, mostly they are all kids my age driving manual that suck way bad, or they are beat to death by kids my age. This is just what I see.

You are talking about a 3.4 but I said 3.8 and he has 3:42's, but he has beaten cars that run 15.0 stock, well thats what the car stats say. So it doesn't matter what v6's generally run, it matters how it runs on the street. I would rather have a car that runs generally 17's that can beat the 15's cars then be that 15 car that loses. Thats just me though.

I was talking sea level times in good air. You are talking Vegas times in who knows what air. Veges is about 2500' high, right? I bet you would run high 16s to low 17s in Vegas in your car. Go to the track and find out. A 17 second car is hardly keeping up with a 15.5 second car.

He would probably run high 9s to low 10s. I don't think you are stupid. Seriously, take your car to the track and see what it does. It is a lot of fun and then you have #s to compare it to other cars.

Steve ol pal , I have never in my day seen a 98 GT stock run a low 14 , not saying it hasnt been done , but I have never seen it . I have seens some that wouldnt break a 15.5 w/an auto , and some the would/could not break a 15.9 ..also auto's . I have seen many 5 speeds run a 14.6-14.9 though . But there is no way a 95 6cyl is going to kill one .

I'm guessing that 15.5 in the high desert is more like a high 14 on the east coast.

1badazzGT from this board ran a 14.3 at 97 bone dead stock in his 98. It must have been a freak Slowest one I have seen with an auto was 15.1, but this was at Rockingham. I actually saw a kid in a 96 Cobra that same day tunning 15.5's and lose to the guy in the 96 auto GT that was stock. It was funny as hell.
