Obviously the driver of the AMG really sucks. I've seen it happen with all cars. This chick ran a 15.5 at 98 in a WS6 6-speed LS1 at my track. I beat her by 2 or 3 tenths in a very minor bolt on '95 GT. I've seen plenty of 5.0s running 16s.

A 6-speed is one thing. I've run as slowly as a 13.6 in my Z06

However, an auto with a wonderful traction control algorithm that allows you to simply stomp it at the light and run 12s all day long is another thing entirely.

I agree with Nuke61. Mercedes gives you everything you need just to "stomp it and go". And repeat it with amazing accuracy.

Driver-selectable COMFORT MODE starts vehicle moving in 2ND GEAR or a second Reverse gear, and upshifts at lower rpm, to help improve control on slippery surfaces.

AHAHA! The guy was not only racing in comfort mode, he was trying to be better than the speedshift programming, hahaha! That guy deserves to lose to a poorly tuned, rusted turbo Mopar minivan. What a dumbass. Nice kill... He deserves to lose every race.

AMG Speedshift
AMG SpeedShift programming provides up to 35% faster gear changes, automatically downshifts during braking, prevents unwanted upshifting while cornering, offers one-touch selection of the best gear for maximum acceleration(Shift into Optimum Gear), and features torque converter lockup in all forward gears.

Fingertip manual mode
Fingertip manual mode allows direct-access shifting through forward gears via buttons on back of upper steering-wheel spokes or via Touch Shift feature of shift lever, and will automatically intervene only to induce an upshift at redline, to downshift as needed upon full throttle, and to select 1st gear when the vehicle stops. In standard and comfort modes, the steering wheel buttons operate the Touch Shift feature.
