similar setup to the GM one of two weeks ago, mercedes benz has setup a much much smaller test drive event on the side of universal studios off of vineland...

review:

it sucked, the cars sucked, it was hot, the parking lot had more islands and curbs than actual pavement. lucky to get the crappy 150hp cars up to 20mph.

the good cars, the AMG supercharged v6's pushing 350hp, felt slow and the ride-along course was incredibly short. yes, ride-along course... you wern't allowed to drive the AMG cars. the professional drivers were very cool and enjoyed talking to the riders, but otherwise it was rather boring.

they gave away goodie bags, which included a bunch of propaganda and a mercedes benz zip-zap toy, which looks cool as hell till you put batteries in it and realize it doesn't work. the charge takes about a minuite but the charge life is roughly 2 seconds (no joke).

oh well, if your bored and in the area, go to the mercedes test drive thing... don't expect to be wowed ... but hey, its free.

Yeah I went and pretty much agree. I did enjoy the ride along though but that was about it.

I haven't tried it yet but I'll let you know when I do. It's at home and I'm at work right now.

Well mine works fine so I'm thinking it must be operator error.
