Last Friday I was up in Kansas City with a guy that loves to setup races. So i get there about 11pm and he already has a guy for me to race. It was a brand new yellow Z06. We both agree to the race and when I start it up the guy in the Z06 freaks out. He was all up in my window like WTF does thing got in it? I know you got some crazy sh*t in there! I just laughed. (This guy is from Alabama and talks like it lmao) So we go race. I honk 3 times and were off. He jumped out on the second honk, but I started catching up real easily and then a Taurus changes lanes and slams on his brakes in front of the Vette. So we all (like 20 FBodies) mess with the guy in the Taurus for like 5 miles...think he called the cops...ooops

Second race was me vs a VERY low 12 second Ecplise GSX. I think he ran like a 12.4 or 12.3. We went from a stop and I am on street tires. He SPANKED my *** bad. So then we go from a 20 mph roll and he SPANKED me again. So we went one last time from a 35 mph roll and I pulled him pretty good and missed 4th....(didnt dow shift, just didnt get it in gear.) And I kept pulling once I got it in 4th. I got videos if someone can host em!!!

THEN I raced a 99+ Heads/Cam GT Mustang. He had DR's and I was on street tires. We went from a stop and he KILLED me. I tried from a stop again and got my *** whipped again. I couldnt get him to go from a roll though. It was a nice GT though.

Finally I raced a new Lightning from a stop which also had DR's. He beat my ***. Then from a roll about 40 mph, I spanked him bad.

By the way, we all met at a spot in the city and went out and raced after. That's how I knew what they were running and knew about the tires.

If you caught up to the Z06 "real easily" then obviously he was a shi**y driver. Sounds like you need tires. Good races!

 

Not really. We raced from a roll and I definately have more top end then his vette. It wasn't REAL easily, but if the Taurus wasnt in the way, I would venture to say that I could have got a car length or 2 passed him without trouble. I probably got about 10-15 more RWHP than his Vette does.

 

What year Z06? You outweigh him by about 300 lbs. and have worse aerodynamics and gearing. You probably have him by 10-25 rwhp depending on the year of his car.

 

03-04....not sure which.

 

More like 25 horses. A stock 02+ Z06 typically dynos right around 350 rwhp.

 

Good "pull" either way.
