lt1 vs si

I just got my license 2 days ago...All my friends wanted to race so we went on the highway... before we did it from the dig

I have a 96 camaro z28 conv. only with a intake and slp exhaust.
My friend in a 08 si has a intake headers full exhaust and a 50 shot.(i think hes a idiot he has 40k on it and hes spraying with stock internals)

but we went on the highway we did a 40 roll at first. I pulled on him had at atleast 3 1/2 lengths. I was doing about 80 at the time he sprayed pulled up right to the side of me now we were doing 100. We went to about 120 i beat him but he still says he got me.

So then we did a real race a exact 1/4 mile once you hit the train tracks. He pulled straight up to the line, i did a nice burnout to warm up my tires cause i wasnt losing...so i beat him off the line by 4 lengths he span like anything...and of course once he got traction he sprayed i had my pedal to the ground beat him by 2 lengths...

Fun night hoping i can beat everyone in my town haha

Just don't let the adrenalin of competition make you do something you wouldn't normally do. You've gotta stay alive and out of jail if you want to finish those mods!

Oh, and do the gears first. They'll be noticeable in all kinds of driving, not just full throttle.

Re: lt1 vs si

So you did a 1/4 mile race that ended by hitting the train tracks at the top end? Sounds sketchy to me. Just remember this is real life not a Paul Walker movie. Be safe and have fun. BTW +1 gears one of the best bang for the buck mods ever.

Re: lt1 vs si

dang your worse then me haha. just a precaution you should have someone down there watchin for trains cause that would be bad to say the least. Dont want you 6ft in the ground, or your car in the junk yard... then we wouldnt get to read more of these good stories
On the other side good kill!!!

well, im surprised you can launch it if you just started driving. i've been driving a pos for 2 years, just got my 02 z28 a few weeks back, and still cant launch worth a damn (im guessing part of it is the tires, they're the low rolling resistance ones)

Re: lt1 vs si

1. doing a burn out on your street tires wont help, drive around the water box and spin them quick to clean them.

2. those Si's are no joke, i bet with a good driver and the mods you currently have he would get ya by a solid car or 2 from a dig or a roll.

3. get some gears, and some headers and keep the shiny side up

oh and those Si's love nitrous, spraying on stock internals wont hurt a thing as long as you do it in moderation.
