But I would think that the LS2 should feel pretty quick all around. Not as quick as a stalled LT1, but still quick.
Well... I wasn't saying all LS2 & LS1's, I was more or less singling out the GTO. A freind of mine had a 98z28 and a 2000 C5 and they were both wicked fast! The GTO was like trying to drive a riding lawnmower on a giant waterbed!!!

It doesn't actually work that way. The low 13 second bottom end car is a stalled auto. Stalled autos tend to pull great ET's with mediocre traps. While his low 13 second car is a 6 speed which tends to have mediocre ET's with great traps.

I could see your car running 13.3 @ 103. But I can see his running 13.0 @ 108. From a 60 mph roll the only thing that matters is 103 vs 108 which is a world of difference.

LSX's are higher rpm performers but with a 6 speed all the guy has to do is pick the right gear and he'll start the race high up in the rpm band. With some powershifting he can keep his motor in the powerband.

This is what people need to understand. 60-85 is far too short to be considered a race IMO. 20-100 or 60-120 would have been better to really see how the two cars and or drivers really match up.

Nice. Update us with your results. I'm curious to see how good you can 60 with your stall. 1.8's is my guess but hopefully with good air you might get 1.7's.

Beautiful car BTW.

Well, the best run I had which is dog crap was a heatsoaked 13.80@98 with a horrid 2.0 60'

Every run I lost a mph as my car got hotter and hotter. It was close to the red zone on the last run and I was almost to my stock trap speed.

I didn't see any good times last night.

A modded LS1 was running 103 traps
A heads/cam LS1 was running 108 traps
An LS2 GTO was running 13.9@99s

All 6 speeds I believe. It was in the 80+ degrees out. And I think my misfire is hurting me more than I thought. I felt it in third gear pretty bad every run. I need to figure it out.

I love Az "winter."

The Black SS was an auto. I don't know about the goat, I want to say auto as well. And you did get a 1.9 60ft on one run.

I told him, to go back when it was colder, it was 80* the other night. And eventhough 13.8 isn't the greatest, he did beat an LS2 GTO and ran a couple tenths slower than that modded Black SS. A G35 that night ran a 15.7@92. It wasn't a great night for anyone.

Yes, and I trapped lower and went slower cause I was even hotter.

At least you were in the 13's. And like you said, Arizona weather plays havic on everyones track times. What tires were you running? Did you spin at all?

That's what I'd expect for your mods and typical Summer like temps. In situations like that, your best bet is to park it and let it cool for an hour or two.

I was going to park it, the DA was 2800' and probably wasn't going down much so I really lost interest in the night.

I was on DRs and had no spin.
