Question LT1 TA vs. Stage 1 SRT-4

Guys, who do you think would win in a race...my bros 94 TA 6 spdd with the following mods:
CAI, air foil, 160stat, Meziere electric H20 pump, long tubes w/ory, TSP rumbler catback, 4.10s, nitto drag radials, pro 5.0 shifter, and a few suspension mods.....vs the stage 1 skittle. I know how his car will run, just dont have much experience with the SRT4's(damn skittles)

Stage 1 SRT4's are in the mid to high 13's with good drivers, my buddies 96 WS6 with the same exact mods pretty much as your brothers except my buddy has a moser 12 bolt cut a 12.6@109 with a 1.7 60'. So if your brother can drive he should put a nice beating on that to cool for you neon.

Re: LT1 TA vs. Stage 1 SRT-4

im Brian's brother. I know the dude with the srt-4 and its pretty damn quick, although I do think that some of his stories are fictitious(sp?) ex. he said he beat a Z06 from a highway role Im thinking its going to be a very close race, but I dont know what my car will do with these mods (still in process) He layed the smack down on me very badly about 2 monthes ago when my car was stock and had a horrible opti stumble so we'll see. ttt

Assuming equal drivers, I'd put my money on the TA in that race.

Re: LT1 TA vs. Stage 1 SRT-4

Just been informed that the kid has a boost controller....is that considered in a "stage 1" setup? Would this alter the outcome?

You'll kill a stage 1. Stage 2 will win if he's running race gas. Stage 3 SRT's put down 310 at the wheels on pump gas.

Boost controller is seperate - and would make it a closer race.

They are staged upgrades from Mopar. Increased power with stock driveability.

Speaking of drivability, I've always wondered how bad the torque steer was on the SRT4? Does it have a LSD? My mom used to have a Maserati TC that had a turbo 4 w/fwd. When the boost came on, it'd rip the wheel out of your hands. You really had to watch out with that car. With all the hp these fwd's are making now days I'm wondering how well the car handles it.

The 04's and newer have a Quaiffe LSD, and equal length halfshafts. Torque steer is minimal.

Yea, but that is with a bigger turbo.
Better off to buy your own setup than pay a dealer for that, it also kills the warranty from what I've been told.

tell him he's an uber queer and doesn't get to change the rules of drag racing to suit his needs...tell him unless he wants to do it the way it's been done since it was invented to shut his big dumb head...
