Talking Lt1 creams 1980 z28.

Well.... I was cruising around the neighboorhood when a 1980 black z28 pulls next to me and asks me if I want to race. Of course I said yea, but there were 3 patrol cars looking for something, so we went about 2 miles from the neighboorhood. We raced twice first from a 20 mph roll, then from a standstill. I beat him by 6 car lengths or so. The second time he didn't even finish since his gears got stuck, he overheated his transmission. He said his car wasn't stock, what do those cars run? That car sounded nice!!!!

Not sure exactly what they run, but I can tell you its nowhere near what a LT1 runs...Late 70's early 80's was a sh!tty time power wise for muscle cars

They were only rated at ~185 HP or something like that in '80/'81. Pretty weak. They're redline was at about ~4500 RPM!!

That's weird about the tranny ... dude's got some serious issues obviously!?

Good kill, but watch out for my old '81! It would take a seriously worked LT1 to beat it. It ran in LS1 territory.

Speaking of which, I tried lookin' at your '81 to check it out and it appears the link is no longer any good, Pete.
