Re: LS1 vs LT1

The way the guy was driving it made it look like an automatic.

Re: LS1 vs LT1

Nice video, but...........

No wonder so many peeps drive automatics these days. The guy in the LT1 is shifting great, just like everybody should. It kind of freaks me out that it seems amazing to people. I'm nailing shifts like that every race I run. Tends to be hard on the tranny over time. I've broken my 3rd gear synchro and had the tranny rebuilt once a couple of years back, and will probably need it gone through again in another 10,000 miles or so. Matter of fact, I'm hoping I can get the updated ratios from the new '06 C6 Hi Performance package on my next rebuild. Those ratios look perfect to me, better than the stock ratios on my LT1.

I just always assumed shifting like that, and gradually tearing up your T56 over time in the process, was normal.

Re: LS1 vs LT1

I hear ya! ^^ There are a lot of people who can't drive/shift worth a crap though. I've even seen this between myself and my Dad......when we went to the track, he couldn't run quicker than ~13.20 with his '73 Camaro......I jumped in and got a 12.79!! I was listening to his shifts though, and they were slow as hell.....like street driving or something!?

Re: LS1 vs LT1

Its just that some poeple dont really have to ***** to shift like this, because they dont want to ruin their car if something goes wrong. And keep in mind that his powershifting which very few people do because of the stress put on the car. Im sure there are many drivers that can shift like this, but its nice to see one in video in such a close race.

Re: LS1 vs LT1

I shifted like that from 100,000miles to 160,000 back in my prelude days. Never had a problem with the trans. When i saw the video i was like "man that LT1 has some top end" not man he shifts good. That's how you're supposed to shift when you race or you might as well get an A4.
