Ls1 T/a V. C6

well guys, i happen to run into a nice stock C6(silver) it was sweet! and we went from a 25MPH roll and he waxed me by about 2 cars. his car was all stock and my mods in the sig. he showed me whos boss and i guess i have to add some longtubes and a nice TC. i felt that i held my own for sure.

cool. But i would think that a C6 would win by much more than 2 car lengths....not that LS1's aren't fast

Good death. Yeah the C6's are nice but the stock 1/4 mile numbers arn't all that impressive (but I still want one ). I'm guessing before long someone with a 11 second f-bofy, mustang, ect will humble him pretty good.

Again, good death and definately get a torque converter for your car.

The C6's 400 HP rating isn't anywhere close to the C5 Z06's 405 HP rating. Considering Z06's were good for low 12's, even high 11's, the new C6 hasn't been doing much better than ~12.7's from what I've read so far (and I mean stock, not with mods). So take an LS1 which is good for low 13's stock, add a couple mods and a good driver, you're into the high 12's ..... not really that far off a C6. Against a Z06, it would be a whole different story ..... more like, ~12 car lengths!!!!

They're the same thing...

(you mean LID and Loudmouth)

He also never said how long they ran for from that 25MPH rolling start, so 2 cars is not out of the question...

I've only seen one C6 run at the track here in Indianapolis and it was running low 13's with horrible traction (everything generally runs crappy because they don't prep the track for Tuesday night street legals). The Vette was an auto.

The torque management is what is killing the C6's on the track. Cartech dynoed one at 350 ish WHP but the best ET they could get was like a 13.1 at 104 with a 6 speed. Read it in PHR last month. They got rid of the TM and put on headers and slicks and ran solid 11's.

You are a little misinformed. C6 vettes actually put out similar hp/tq numbers as a ZO6. The difference is that the C6 has a torque management system that hurts the 1/4 times. A few mags have gotten 115mph trap speeds with those 12.7 runs. Obviously it CAN ET alot faster with 115mph.

You could miss a gear in that car..come to nearly a halt..and still trap 104.

As far as a c-6 goes Id love to race...ahumm..I mean beat up on one.

115 trap is plenty of trap to run 11's on an N/A engine. Its all about the sixties. Put some sticky tires on that car ..a nice launch and youd run an 11 second quarter mile time.

Duhh!! I meant to type it CAN trap much faster! Cripes, I trapped 114 and ran 12.5 in a heavier vehicle with a 2.07 60'. I am a meathead. Thanks for pointing that out!
