So true. There is a guy I talked to who has a Mach 1 that was bragging about beating stock LS1's. He said all he had was intake and catback. Come to find out he was full bolt on w/4.11's out back. Guess they have to think this way to be competitive though.

On a side note, I ran a SC'd (who knows what else, but thats all the guy said) 93 Cobra back when I just had a lid, catback and some suspension mods. He only pulled a length when we got on it and I spun (worthless Kumho 712's!) and that is the only ground he gained. SC'd engine vs. NA engine w/mild bolt ons..that isn't too impressive.

was he a auto? Looks like you have a m6? I too have a m6. While its a lot of fun its hard to beat a nice tight hard shifting auto! He doesn't have to let off the gas!! I had some close races in my old 76 camaro that I won with my t400 auto.

Then there was something wrong with it. My mark VIII did mid 14's with 220 RWHP and a 4236 lb weight with me in it, this with an auto and an open 3.07 rear.
A 94-95 Cobra with just a PCM tune to get rid of the annoying timing pull on full throttle shifts will run around 14 flat.

Yea i'm not too hot on street racin. I've seen people die from it. But sometimes you just gotta go.

I try and keep it to small back roads that I know real well

with no hidden driveways or side streets for that matter

I just wish I coulda kept with him better

First I'm sure that Cobra had more mods then he was saying, however the odds of him having nitrous are slim to no chance at all. The 5.0 Cobras had an underrated 240HP, all he needs to beat that Camaro is simple bolt ons, because what mods does that Camaro really have other then a cold air, cutout, and totally unnecessary 315 tires. The heads on the Cobra flow much better then stock LT1 heads, hence another reason he was pulling away at higher speeds. Dont attribute every loss to a Mustang as oh they have to have NOS or something, christ it was a modded Cobra vs a basically stock LT1.

Quick you are to roll your eyes young Skywalker. Faith , none you have.

The 95 Cobras came with Mustang enscribed into the rear end bumpers. Only in 96 did they change over to the Cobra inset. So yes, It was infact a Cobra you raced.
All Cobras are 5 / 6 speed manual cars as well. Never has been an auto Cobra.

Hope I shed some light on that.

good run nonetheless.

The above mentioned is probably the most accurate information given.
