Turbos have never been exclusive to imports, nor to small-displacement engines. You just seem to find them there all the time.
I don't know anybody who wouldn't buy a production car that had a v8 with turbo(s). Hell, I don't know anybody who can watch that video without a *hi*-eating grin on their face!

just taking a guess, I would say at least $50k for just the engine, the whole car has got to be over $100k.
Totally wicked car and probably 1 of the most powerful street cars !
EDIT..... I just checked out their website and they know how to make alot of streetable horsepower !!! If I ever come into money (ALOT of money), I would love to have them stuff a TT SBC in a vette !!!

I wanted to show the import guys that those 800-900hp EVO and Supra street cars AINT S*** compared to fully built V8's
I also know it is'nt a kill but its directed towads the import guys who mainly come into the kill section not the tech or regional sections of the board.
Like any stereotype, it's said because it's commonly true!
It's really hard to launch a Supra no matter what rubber is under it. A lot of it is that the car is built to not squat under acceleration. Then there's the tiny sidewall on even the stock tires. My brother ran 295-width Bridgestone SO3's on his Supra and still had trouble getting even a 2.0 60ft with an automatic. Depending on the tire, the car ran anywhere from 11.5 to 12.7 at the same 120-122 mph (93 octane, 19 psi), with the best times via its new owner on ET Streets.
Eyeball the Supra video on my Stealth's site (see sig) where I lose. This guy is on slicks and I hand it to him till about the 1/8th mile. I know I have nothing on a car with that kind of top end but I wasn't just going to give up!
There's a Supra near here with ~ 850 rwhp and it did mid-low 10s at ~ 145 mph on a regular basis. That's the exception and not really the rule though. It's not impossible -- just most of 'em don't seem to net ETs that match their traps.

Yea, sorry if I misled anyone. They are hella-fast at that HP level. AWESOME road track cars. But if you think your camaro or trans am is traction handicapped, try launching one of them without serious ($$$$$$$$$$$) suspension work.
