I made no such claim. I've done 100+ many times. It was reckless when I did it, and it was reckless when you did it.

Ideally, we would both stop driving recklessly on public roads. I've been doing it less, but I haven't stopped. I just can't get to the track often enough.

Come on, people, it's spelled reckless. There is no W.

Re: lamborghini gallardo!!!!!

ya you are right it all depends on traffic. The lambo and I were all alone until we hit a little spot of traffic and we have to get passed a couple of cars, no big deal i just got flashed by them a lot lol. That was seriously only like the 5th-6th time i have been over 100ish since i have owned my car. I know im gonna get labeled as a reckless kid since im 17 and have a camaro ss. but i am actually a really good driver. I've been to 2 safety schools and one racing school. Im a lot safer than the average kid, but i obviously don't have the experience of you guys.....

No offence bro, but on the streets there isn't a difference. I'm guilty of doing the same thing once before too, in even worse traffic (but going a LOT slower). If you ever have a newborn on the way home from the hospital in the backseat, I'm sure that a pair of cars pushing as little as 15 above the speed limit is going to make you nervous.

Just take it easy and be careful for everyone's, and your sake.

I dont ever drive like that really, it was just fun to do that once because how many times will a lamborghini want to race me spontaniously on the freeway!!! it was just a one time thing and im glad i got it out of my system

Different cars make you do different things. when im in my work truck i drive the speed limit and people always fly past. I always call them jackasses and hope an ISP car is lookin for speeders. But when im in my Firebird im like "get the **** outta the way."

Re: lamborghini gallardo!!!!!

(beater) if someone wants to drive quicker than me, fine, ill get out of the way. but if someone is driving like a complete jacka$$, i will get in the way and hope they hit me. what are they going to say, "yeah i rear ended him while doing 80 in 55!" even if they lie, the blackbox doesnt. around here they do check the box on most accidents if the car is totalled. i had 3 cars hit my chevy 3500 worktruck this way totalling 2 of 3, while only denting my bumper.

(camaro) i dont speed around unless noone is in sight for a good mile. i had 1 experience where i was proving a point one night and i took the car up full speed. a couple cars were well ahead of me. the brakes overheated and one car cut over so i had no lanes to pass and i missed hitting them by about 6 feet. that was with brakes floored, downshifting an a4 and using the e-brake. speeding thru traffic is sheer stupidity, and ive been guilty of it too.

Re: lamborghini gallardo!!!!!

i'm sure it was fun, but yeah thats kinda dangerous. I've seen lots of bad stuff happen from that...all from kids who can't really drive their cars well. It's kinda hard to wreck going 90 in a straight line, but it's another to be weaving. lol damn son....

Not sure where you came up with that....I'm not talking about what's safe, I'm talking about what's legal. You can get a ticket for "reckless driving," and that's what I've been talking about all along.

Regardless of any other characteristic you could use to describe your driving and/or the traffic conditions, 100+ is considered reckless. More than 35 over the limit is also considered reckless, so if the speed limit is 25, 60 will get you a speeding ticket, but 61 is reckless.

Regardless of speed, weaving in and out of traffic can also be considered reckless (this is more subjective, but you can pretty much count on cops not putting up with it at all). You could be doing exactly the speed limit, and weaving is still reckless.

We could argue about why the laws are the way they are, but I think they're pretty reasonable in this case. If you get a ticket for reckless and you were doing any of the above (100+, more than 35 over, or weaving), I'm guessing you deserved it, and I'm guessing that it could easily be considered "unsafe."

Whatever. I would have raced the Lambo too.

Just be careful.
