Re: Kills with 06 Mustang GT

From my time on this board, it goes like this:

LT1 low 14's - very high 13's.
LS1 low - high 13's

As for my car, stock it went 14.4@98 in hot humid weather. With bolt on's it's now 13.5@105 in warm weather. Looking at the trap speed you can see that my HP #'s have gone up significantly. What hurts my E.T's is my stiff suspension. I have a harder time at the launch than many, so my E.T.s aren't as good as they could be.

Re: Kills with 06 Mustang GT

My buddy has an 05 GT. With a tune, intake and axle back system he put down 300rwhp and 312trq....... Thats pretty good in my book, for 3 mods.

BTW its a nice *** car to boot............

He still see's my tailights often. He's getting a Saleen blower so I guess I'll have to put on my H/C setup asap

I've personally seen a 100% stock '97 M6 (board member 97z28/m6) run 13.7 @ 100 in the 1/4, and I've seen a lightly modded (CAI, cat-back, A4 w/3.42's) '96 T/A run 14.6 @ 96. Then I've seen a couple ~13.9 - 14.1 LT1's (mild bolt-ons, M6 & A4).

My own LS1 has run a "best" of 14.1 @ 101 (or 103? ) on a REAL BAD day, and as good as 13.02 @ 107 on a REAL GOOD day!

Yeah, so the #'s are all over the place for both LT1's and LS1's!?

The 3v Gts are impressive w/ some bolt ons and the right gearing...Its ashame but there overshadowed in the ford world by the newer cobras because there just hp monsters.

It's kind of the same with LS1's vs. LT1's, except LT1's really aren't that far off LS1's like the base 4.6L is to the 390HP Cobra engine. It only takes light modding for an LT1 to embarrass an LS1.

A good running LS1 is leaps and bounds faster then a LT1...Both good bases to start w/ though...If they were only as easy as 5.0's to work on Tinkered around w/ my buddys 351w 11 sec. fox body w/ him yesterday....Even w/ the extra cubes It was still a pleasure to work on next to the 4ths

I'm just saying the SVT Cobra ('03/'04) is even more leaps and bounds ahead of the regular 4.6L GT. Considering the order is as such:

GT < LT1 < LS1 < Cobra

Although I guess that's the order for the old 215/260 HP 4.6L. I'm sure the new 300 HP version would fall between the LT1 - LS1. Still, way below the Cobra though.

Re: Kills with 06 Mustang GT

The newer GT is faster then the LT1 but it still falls slighty behind the LS1 (fbody version anyway)...Yea the Cobras still the king of the hill unless you want to bring in higher priced cars, where as the new z06 has been laying the smack down on the terminators in all the races ive seen. I should be due for something new in the year comming up, and ill surely pass up a newer GT, or a ls2 GTO for a older cobra (03/04) in a heartbeat. The bang for the buck cant be beat.

People in Idahoe must be shying away from GTs, because most of the newer Stangs are sixers with backward-hatted kids driving them. They like to mug me too. As I always say...

"It ain't even a GT. GTFO!"

I'd love to run one.

Last time i was at the track there were 3 or 4 05 GT (assuming auto's but not sure) and they were all running 14.6-14.7 at 95-98mph. The slowest LT1 ive seen so far was 14.7ish. So if they were auto's they have a real problem puttin those ponies to the ground.
