Well here's one for ya ...

My buddy's '97 Z28 M6 (100% bone stock ... I mean STOCK) ran 13.75 @ 100 mph on the same day I ran 13.02 @ 107, and on the drive home we were playing around a little bit on the highway, and from ~90+ mph, he couldn't even come close, and he was dropping to at least 4th gear (or 3rd? ) whichever you can hit at that speed with 3.42's. We did a few runs like that, but finally quit because it was obvious my car out-ran his no problem. That was with 4.10's.

At the moment I actually have the 2.73's in my car, but the 4.10's are going back in before next spring! (long story, don't ask) but anyway, when I raced the SRT-4 on the highway, that was with the 2.73's. The only thing stopping us from racing beyond what we did was traffic. I'm confident my car could beat that guy, but in the short time we had to play around, neither one of us was losing the other ... but again, I had 2 passengers in my car (extra weight, you know!)

Why would it need a rebuild? ITs pretty clear that it runs strong and can take down a brand new 5spd srt4 w/ just a few basic mods. Why rebuild?

How come in your sig it says "I got a 4cly but walk 8's" You have a 4 cyl turbo which talks 8's. Put a turbo on the 8' and I guarantee you it will walk your ***. There is no replacment for displacment biotch.

How does it feel to know that your car in stock form and an 05 w/ a 5speed was killed by a 12 year old LT1 w/ 100k and minor mods? That must be a sucky feeling goes to show how far ahead chevy was for so long.

EDIT: Oh yea the srt4 also had drag radials on and it still got beat. I have stock eagle tires.

 

it feels like the srt4 was mis represented... i have personally beaten z28s, honestly its a drivers race.. but i have beaten them they beat me off the line but i reel them in during 3rd like you said...

no replacement for displacement is absolutely correct but. But there is also no replacement for the looks on big bad v8 owners faces when my "lil Gay neon" makes them look silly.... its all prefrence buddy dont get all butt hurt.

Well you might have half the cylinders of an 8, but still, you have a turbo. Still, those srt-4's are neat little cars and were made for the same reason as our LT1's: go fast for not that much money. I just find that most srt-4 owners are jerks because they're normally teenagers who had their parents buy them the car and they think that they're the fastest thing on the road.

 

he nailed it. I hate it when parents buy their kids cars. The kid I raced was my age (18) and he had an 05 obviously his parents bought it for him. Felt good to take it down tho I had everything against me. A4 vs. m5, 1 person&subbox in my car vs. just him, he had drag radials vs. my stock tires. He could drive it pretty good too the thing rocketed throught 2nd & 3rd he said he ran 14.2's at the track which sounds normal. HIs car probably costs like 7 times the amount of mine hehe, but it was stock so for 800 bucks those things can run 12s.

 

I know what you mean about the priceless look on their faces. A lot of people mistake my car for a v6 firebird since its a formula, then I open the cutout and rape their *** its so funny, usually ricers think its a v6 and they **** their pants when the cutout opens.
