Killed A Silverado

I was comming home from spending Turkey day with my sister and her family when this guy in a newer (slant eye headlight) Silverado gets right on my bumper...we get to a stop light and he's still on my butt....right after the light the two lane road that we are on goes to a four lane....when the light turned green I took off harder than normal to see what this guy would do....he gets over in the left lane and starts to pass me...I can hear his exhaust so he at least has one mod....anywho...careful not to spill my drink I floor the old Dodge...within seconds I'm pulling away....we raced from about a 30 mph roll to about 80....I had about one truck on him when I shut down and he did the loser flyby....he had nice duals.... ....HEMI is king.

I seen a sweet new ram lifted and chromed out and asked the guy if he had a Hemi in it and his reply was "Hell no, Hemi's are made in Mexico" I guess you learn something new everyday.

I would have politely repleyed "Yeah and the motor isn't the only thing made in another country either."

Re: Killed A Silverado

340HP vs a 295HP 5.3 and you only won by 1 truck length? Good kill!

Re: Killed A Silverado

...King of the 1500 standard truck!....ONLY one truck length??? Considering he had at least 15-20 mph gain on me at the start and we only raced to 80 from 30....one truck is pretty good...

.....don't be a HEMI hater...you know its BAD

Re: Killed A Silverado

Do you have to capitalize hemi? Is that some unspoken rule between dodge owners? Do you have a "If you can't Dodge it RAM IT" sticker?

TONY

Hemi trucks are pretty fast. The new GMT-900's should provide some good competition though.

Re: Killed A Silverado

How the hell do you own a hemi-powered DC vehicle and still think it's spelled "HEMI"?

That's just the 'font' they use to spell it. It's not an acronym.

And more on topic of the story I remember a while back seeing a comparison of a 24k dollar hemi powered Ram vs a 40k dollar Silverado SS. The Ram actually won at nearly half the price.

What exactly did the Ram win?

Re: Killed A Silverado

..I'll tell you what it beat the SS at....VALUE....with an extra 20K in the bank I'd throw a filter and hi-flo muffler on the old HEMI (making up the .1 sec loss)and enjoy a REAL truck that hauls a$$....(for a truck)....you can buy alot of gas with $19,850...(minus 150 for the filter and muffler)
