I am driving on the freeway and eating a 1.08 double chees. The white 3rd Gen cuts me off. I didn't get upset. We happened to take the same exit. I was right behind him. I gained on the guy and asked him if he wanted to race. He said: "You are v-6, you can't get me." I agreed, but asked for stop and go race. Both of us made U and lined up.

He counted down from 6, I kept my RPMS 2, 2.5. When I heard the "GO". I launched with almost no squeeks and maximum traction. By the end of my 1st gear I had him by 1/2 of the car. My second was "blah"....He was starting to catch up, but at the end of the 2nd he was even with me. When I hit my 3rd (about 5.0, 5.2) he walked me. I saw his car walking me until the end of the 3rd. I did not engage my 4th because there was no point. He killed me. Even though I got killed, I still enjoyed it. The guy was cool, we exchanged "peace outs" and drove off to our destinations.
I salulte to people like that !.

Seems like some 3rd gen guys like to pick on the v6's...seeing most LT1's and LS1's are way outta there league. You'll find a few..(and i stress few) 3rd gens running around like that, but not many, most are ragged out pieces of junk

I think there are as many ragged out 4th gens as there are 3rd gens it all depends on how a person takes care of there car Its not a cars fault if it is ragged out but the person who drives it

i love the 3rd and 4th gens I have a 86 ROC and a 00 SS the SS is a blast to drive and a topend beast but man it sure does feel good to pull 1.4* 60fts in the ROC

I love the look on peoples faces when someone in a LT1, LS1 ,03', lightning, or vette pulls up beside and old 3rd gen and says hmm, nice car but none of those are fast, its so fun to prove em wrong

 

I agree......there are the nice cars and then there are the ragged of P.O.S.'s........

Seems like some LT1 guys like to pick on the V6's... seeing most LS1's are way outta there league. Most LT1 cars around here are pushing the 100K mark and have had several owners, most of which weren't too nice to the car. 5 years from now you'll be in the same boat. I'm even seeing 93/94 LT1s cheaper than the 91/92 cars now.

I know of nearly a dozen 100% streetable 3rd gens within a 15 mile radius that would clean your clock. Not stock, but neither are you

Antz, I've never been beaten by an LT1 yet...(LT4 Vette once)even when I just had free modds. And love the look on LS1 drivers faces when I take'em outta the hole, they usually caught me on top but I made'em work for it

I kinda like it that they think we're slow, I get more kills that way..

Now with the new modds, the looks will be priceless

For the record I'd race anyone most of the time, especially if I'm bored...
