I was suprised!

I was riding along and a 95 mustang gt pulls up next to me. It sounds awesome. So he looks over and nods so i do the same back no revs. Light turns green and the back tires dont get good traction so the back end goes sideways alittle. We race side bye sidy up unitl 70 then another red light cathes us. We are getting ready to go again then i look down and realize i forgot to use the transmission perform button. I dont floor it the second time around so he gets a jump on me. I get to about 20 mph then floor it. The back tires spin alittle then i take off catch him and he is in my rearveiw mirror by 80 mph.

I was suprised at my car because it has 185,000 miles on it. And all i have is a K&N cold air intake,no cat just glasspack and flowmasters.

What's weird is on our newly paved road. from a dead stop i cant get my back tires to smoke at all they will spin but....still

I am saving up for next summer when i have the motor rebuilt and a supercharger added.

Re: I was suprised!

well a 95 mustang has like 180 rwhp to your 230 rwhp so yeah easy outcome

before i put my new motor in with the original 60k mile never touched lt1 i ran a 13.6 and was beating up on those 97 or 98 (or i think) cobras the color changing ones anyway that everyone around here just had to go buy cause they were so fast lol

It might have something to do with your tires gripping on the new road surface. Our road was just repaved and widened so I didn't get to drive my car for a week or two. (I wasn't getting that ashpalt junk on my car.) So soon as they were done and gone I went out on a nice Saturday afternoon and left a 100 feet plus tire mark on their newly paved road. Looked in my rear view mirror and there was alot of smoke out there.

BTW, good kill on a Mustard its cool to whoop up on em, even in their slower models, they'd do the same to us if we had a bad year model.

Re: I was suprised!

good kill 94. I am in AL as well. I have not raced my car in awhile, cause it keeps dragging along and I do not know why. It is either starving for fuel, which means fuel pump is starting to go out, or a spark issue or just plugs are bad....going to change plugs this weeknd, I hope that fixes it. I hate stepping ont he gas and you can just feel when it does not hit on all 8 cylinders.

Re: I was suprised!

No need to be surprised. You can probably run GT's all day long. All I have to do nowadays is get on the gas for 1 second and I scare most of them away, lol.

Re: I was suprised!

Yeah, suprise shouldnt be the word for it, there are only 2 mustangs that are worth running in my town, a fox body with a mean set of heads and a big cam, and the 55000 dollar 04 cobra daddy bought someone, the other mustangs namely 93-96 gts really arent to fast.

Good kill, I like the look on there faces that always seems to say "But its a mustang Gt"

Re: I was suprised!

ya the 93-98 gt's blow hard. 1999-2004 Gt's will give you a better run especially w/ an lt1 but stock for stock I think the lt1 may edge it out in the 1/4 but it will pull hard uptop w/ the sohc.
