I Killed my own car!!!

Well kinda, raced a 1997 Formula WS6 (red & hardtop, just like my car). When he pulled up I gave him the "nice car".

Him:
97' ws6 package M6 50K miles..stock? prolly

Me: 93' 100k A4..mods in sig

First race from a stop, I powerbreak it to like 1000 and I beat him off the line and then he misses second. Second race powerbreak too 1grand and I get a good launch feathering it until around 15mph and punch it I get about 1/2-1 car on him throught 1st-2nd-and part of third then he reals me in a little but not enough to pull ahead and I break it off around probably 90. Next race was from like a 50 mph roll..this time I was being dumb as hell and left it in "D" and didnt bring it down to "2" so at the third honk I got raped he got a good 11/2 cars on me, and after downshifting I pulled until he was only about 1 car head but there as no hope I got killed at the beginning by stupid auto. Last race was from a stop again same results as second race I got him by a good 1/2 - 1 cars.

Take into mind I told the guy I only had an intake so he was probably pretty pissed off at his car for losing to a 93' w/ double the miles and non ws6.

Anyways it made my day. Hopefully nothing will break on my car since things like to break while racing.

Re: I Killed my own car!!!

oh yeah and this guy I raced was pretty cool, he had a friend w/ a lighting who was behind us, and I had a friend in a modded GTP who was behind us as well. The lighting wanted to race me afterwards but I really didnt want to race anymore. The guy w/ the 97 formula said he had beaten the lighting before so I prolly could have taken it but I duno. Anyways it was a fun night.

Re: I Killed my own car!!!

If drove properly, 14.0's give or take a tenth. If he is good at driving a M6, then a 13.8 wouldnt be too far out of question assuming he could launch it well.

Although you said he missed second. Second I thought was nearly impossible to miss. So he must be a **** face when it comes to driving a stick. Id give him the upper end of the estimate and say that you edged out a 14.0 to 14.2 second car.

However, Im suprised you didnt walk him a little more than a car and a half? Then again, you dont have headers. There are guys with hot cams and no headers and they only gain like 15 horsepower. Stock manifolds really hold back an LT1, or 4 for that matter.

Throw headers on your car and stomp him next time
