i got beat by an 01 or 02 5 speed Cobra with my 98 Z28 a few years back! I had an A4 with 3.73's, a lid with bellows, flowmaster cat back, and HPP3. We lined up at a stoplight, I told him what I had done and he said he only had an h-pipe and cat back. it turned green and I stomped the gas and spun all the way throught the intersection. He got about 3 carlengths on me before I caught up to his rearquarter around a 100 or so. And then I pretty muched stayed about 1/2 a car length to about 140 or so before he just hit the brakes real hard, started downshifting(apparently he saw the cop) and turned. So I slowed down, kept cruising, and all of a sudden that cop flies up behind me with his lights off(sneaky bastard) and rolls me. Gotta drag racing ticket. Btw, my z was running 13.3's at 108 with street tires. Ya win some and ya lose some.

 

The 01 Cobras are not that fast. They are geared poorly from the factory and unless they have 4.10's in back they dont have a chance. They may have 320hp but you sure couldnt tell it from track outings. All the new edge cobras Ive seen run mid 14's stock.

 

Hmm, he sprayed for sure. I had full boltons/tuning on my 95 lt1 m6 vs a exhaust/intake 01-02 cobra, we went 3-4 times from 20-40 or so, and I got him every time by a car or so. He had two passengers and a ton of heavy suspension **** though too, but either way, no way should he have FLOWN past you unless you are having problems with your car or you missed a gear.

 

Well I may not be a good indication, but when I had a blowmaster and an MSD coil I edged out a 98 supercharged Saleen by a nose and took 99 and 01 Cobras by about 3 lenghts. Again just my experience.
