Wow.

Yeah, that would be about right for a Ford Explorer, wouldn't it?

You have to give credit where it's due. Those Germans make some very good cars.

If I was BMW, that would be a TV ad really soon.

That was the luckiest/craziest thing I have seen in a long time. I am sure he had to check his shorts after that.

I vote more credit for the driver than the car.

Hey, if the driver had pulled that off in an Explorer, he would have immediately gotten out and walked on the water to do his next miracle.

Yep. The German car technology at least 10 years ahead of us. Nice video.

Sure, sure, driving a vehicle with the prowess of that Bimmer is certainly a contributing factor in that recovery. But just as that Bimmer is not your average grocery getting, soccer kid hauling SUV, the driver of that vehicle is far above an average driver. I still say the driver gets the lion's share of the credit. Bimmer or not, if that had been me driving that thing in that scenario there's a better than average chance we would have rolled.

I think the only reason he didn't flip is the fact that he was on DIRT and not on pavement. If the end wasn't able to slide around like that then all the weight would have flipped it.

2 more feet and he would have gone off the edge of that cliff.

Not very fair, the edge of the dirt gave him a fighting chance at getting it stable the first time, the second time enertia was on his side. Awesome driver, awesome luck.

You can definately flip an x5. A kid at my school flipped his dad's x5. He decided to try and drift around a turn in the middle of winter, pulled the e brake, hit ice, and flipped over into a ditch.
