humbled by a cobra...

was driving home and noticed an 03 cobra behind me leaving. i see it every day parked way the hell away from everything. kid that looks a little younger than me, and his friend whom i kinda know was with him. we pull out onto the highway and he's right behind me... wonderful i knew exactly what was coming my way hahahah so he paces next to me at around 50mph. no traffic in front of us for a while, i look over, he nods and points forward. i signal for him to roll down his window, he does i'm like sweet car, he's like thanks wanna run? i'm like ehhh you're gonna dump me that gonna be much fun for you (i didn't mind losing)? he's like ahhh c'mon just one! i nod, so i just look forward, keep it in 3rd at about 55mph i'd say. i hit it right when he does, 3rd gear is pretty even till the top, i shift to 4th a little before him (i think i shifted too early, i cant really remember. gimme a break i dont race often ), then he just starts to pull. shut down at i guess 75-80ish (?) his rear bumper i'd say was about a car or a little more in front of me. i'm not upset, cuz i knew i'd lose first race i've gotten in the car, and i get housed oh well it was quite fun and i didn't mind losing to a pretty sweet car. what was i doing racing an 03? eh i dunno it seemed like it'd be fun, and IMO i'd rather race something that'll beat me or be a real close race than something that'll fold like a bad hand.

now it's an excuse for some more mods

cliffs notes: exhaust, intake, PCM tuned TA loses to an at least exhaust 03 cobra.

Good try man. Some of the best races are the ones you know you're going to lose, because you can enjoy the sound and acceleration of the OTHER car. I would have raced him too just for the hell of it. I'm pretty surprised you kept up with him in third gear. Good times........

Nice run,

Seeing how you are probably outgunned by 100 solid rwhp you did quite well.

I think we all need a good butt chewing once and a while... It keeps the mod bug happy in us. I commend you for not backing down though.

Re: humbled by a cobra...

thanks, there's not much i'll back down from, for me it's all about having fun (that's why i run my friend practically every time we're on the road ). when i get my long tubes on i'd like to have a crack at a few Mach 1s that go to school i have a feeling that could be somewhat of a tight race. too bad you're in the NC area else i'd say let's have a run

Re: humbled by a cobra...

Yeah,
NJ is a ways off for me.
I love to have fun also , but you would probably take me with long tubes on the TA. Mine slowed down signifigantly with these heavy wide wheels I got on here now. My best with these wheels is an 8.87 @ 80 mph...blahhh

Let us know how you do against Fords finest in the Jersey area.

Later bro

Heh, I'd day it was more like 130hp at least if he had an exhaust.

They are fun to play with. They do excite the mod bug. which in turn excites the wallet. Which in turn gets the wife uhmm well you can geuss the rest. Nice run win or lose its always fun to race such a good adversary.
