Well I know for sure I am going to come across this jack-*** in my town again. I went home for one day after my exams and a SRT-4 rode my *** all the way down main street. It was wet and I wasnt at all interested in racing since I know how many cops monitor that area. Turns out its someone I knew from Highschool. This kind has always pissed me off since his granny buys all the little toys he has ever wanted. Including a S/C LT1 that he ruined and never made it to the street thanks to his handy wrench work(sold). He also has a very fast Yellow Cavvy Ricer He pulls up beside me in the turn lane at a stop light. He smiles and is like "you ready to go?" I say "No sorry, I dont want to embarrass you infront of your little friend here (passenger)" He got pissed off with that comment and was like "There is no embarrassment here" all stern and ****, and revs his little **** box, which goes without saying, sounds as tame as a fat house cat. After revving a few times and me starting to laugh he gets very frustrated that neither me or my G/F (who is also laughing) are taking him seriously, that he front wheel peels out turning left. My G/F thought he was one of my friends joking around, and when I told her he was serious she had a huge laughing fit.

It's bone stock, do I have a chance? If he mods it anytime soon, what should I watch for (turbo right?) and what psi would rule out my chances? Mods are in sig, with a fresh madwolf tune. Thanks.

srt4's are pieces of **** he stands no chance.

 

if hes stock you'll stomp him(at best most run 13.9's stock)...I dont pay much attention to srt's or there mods...but by yours looks like hell need a good bit to hang

Well I know he has just got the car very recently like within the last few weeks, I doubt its modded. I also doubt the fact that this chump knows how to mod it. Thanks for the replies. I hope that with my recent madwolf tune to be in pretty good shape against him. More than likely I'll have something set-up on a dry day and open road.

I don't think you need to worry, Long Tubes + Catback +CAI + Tune = Low 13's easy. It takes a DAMN good driver to launch a FWD car well. And if he's as dumb as you say he is, then make sure to race him from a dig, where you have a huge advantage. Put him in his place with the rest of the ricers.

DISCLAIMER: Lets not say things we can't take back, I am in NO WAY assuming that SRT4's suck or are hard to drive or whatever. I am also not saying that an SRT4 is a ricer car, I AM saying that the owner of this particular SRT4 IS a ricer.

 

Well like I said, this kid has already riced out a newer yellow Z24, wing, fart cannon, body kit and with a !driver mod. He certainly doesnt know cars worth anything considering he bought a procharged LT1, then blew it up trying to do the mods and repairs himself. It never made it to the road and he sold it to get the SRT-4. He hangs ouyt with the local civic clan, which needless to say, I have already whipped into shape He just wont fall into line. He has always had everything handed to him, when we used to play paintball with him, he had a new $2000 gun everytime we played. His grandma is his money source, its a wonder he hasnt just asked for a 2000+ SS or Vette. Thanks again fella's I'll keep everyone posted, and try to get a video.

Ryan, what are your mods, those are some impressive numbers for an A4, and a nice looking car too.

I test drove an new srt 4 for fun.Stock they go ok but they have serious wheelhop and traction issues on street tires.I also got to see one race at the track and think his best was 15 something and saw personally at least one 16.5 run.He missed a shift bad on that run.!! Standards suck as race cars and fwd and turbo cars suck unless they have drag tires.You blow the tires off way too easy and that srt 4 I test drove had bad wheelhop when you tried to leave the line hard.
Now modded with drag tires they can be fast if this guy has the brains to buy nittos or something.If you buy nitto drags for your car you will guarantee to destroy him if he is on those stock tires they come with or something similar.
He will almost for sure miss a shift,shortshift,hit the revlimiter..one of the above and even if he don't do that betting he spins and hops so bad you will toast him off the line if you just walk it out.
But don't underestimate these cars.It don't take much to make them fast but tires are the key on these things unless you are going from a roll and then you might be surprised what turbos can do to four cylinder cars..I know I have a highly modded turbo awd four banger talon.But as impressive as turbo fours are turbo eights are faster.. so start saving..
My money in this race is on you...!!
Oh and same day I was at local track watching the srt 4 run and a new wrx which didn't do much better than the srt 4 but it did do 15s consistently at least anyway I lined up in my 96 z28 vert and this turbo/nitrosed supposedly fast civic was beside me and windows were down and they were laughing about how they would waste this vert.I dont' think they had seen the vert run earlier that day but they went to line and I launched on my nitto drags and ran a 14.3 at 96mph with like a 2.18 60ft and they ran a 16.5 at 85 or something pathetic forget the 60ft but it was bad..like 2.6 or something.have the timeslip somwhere..They spun bad on street tires and that car was slow as a slug.Not sure what was up with it.It ran pathetic rest of day and a bit later they came beside my vert in staging lines again and
asked the track officials to match them with somebody else..they didn't want to run me again.
I was near total stock vert ,just catback,minor mods and 3.42 gears instead of factory 2.73s'.But the nitto drags helped too.But never even bothered to heat them up that run.All the imports I was running that day were pathetically slow so figured why waste good rubber..LOL

 

Thanks for the info, I actually looked at his tires, cause he did his little pathetic burn out, they are stock. My tires are stock, but I have figured out how to get off the line pretty well with them. Although traction of course is an issue. Thanks for the helpful comments guys, just need to put this kid in his place once and for all. I did it in paintball, sports, and with his cavvy, now its time for the SRT to bow down. I'll of course be expecting many many excuses after this race.

For every one SRT-4 you can show me running a 16.5 I'll show you five running in the 13's bone stock. Mine did, with a 2.1 60'. That's not that bad.

 

I figure he'll be low 14's or at least high 13's stock. I dont have any track times with mods, but I beat a Ford Lightning before my tune.

if u go from a dig u will put him in his place bad even with all ur mods i would watch out going from a 40 roll( which that is what every srt-4 wants to run from). go kick his ***

Dont fock around with the SRT4. Yes it is slower than your car with the mods you have and you will probably take him by 5 car lengths , but treat it like he is the faster car and prepare for him. Ive seen it way too often when the slower car wins because of street tire spin from the more hp car.

What would be funny is go slip you a set of DR on the car and if he is as stupid as you say then he would never suspect a thing. DR in this case would seal the deal for you and you would flat out murder him.

Let us know how the story turns out and if you can take a video of the run.

 

This kid wont know the difference in DR or stock rubber. When he had the LT1, I asked him a few basic questions about if he had headers and a strong tranny for his car since he had a S/C. I also told him I was installing LT's that week if he wanted to watch how they are installed. Him and his buddy began to argue with me about there being no way to fit LT's into an LT1 engine bay and that my mufflex Y pipe with a 4in collector was another thing I was making up. "No way" they make a collector that big for a LT1. Since then I have know that he knew jack crap about cars and mostly lives by the local status quo. He blew up his LT1 motor with his great LT1 know how.

Thanks for the pointers I know traction is an issue, I have a buddy who wants to sell me his BFG DR on wheels, and I may ask for a trial run before I buy.
