HEMI vs Mustang
This guy in a V6 Mustang cuts to the inside to pass while we're making a 90 deg turn......he has the jump on me by the time I floor it.......initially he pulls to about the HEMI's front fender....then the big Dodge starts SLOWLY pulling away.....at about 85mph I let off and let him by before on comming traffic would have turned the stang into a compact.....it was very close....

Are you talking about the Ram Hemi? If so those trucks are sweet. My Best friend got one in August and it took out a GST Eclipse and a 91 RS when it was stock. He has since added a K&N FIPK and a Raven muffler. He is ordering a set of Gibson headers and maybe a SC for it that kust came out. I love that damn truck. Bog, 4X4 and no one expects it when they run into it. Not the fastest but it will surprise a few people.
good kill...
i raced my old man's hemi (peee-cup) with my 2002 c-230 (stock), and dusted him, he has a 3" chambered exhaust (ie no mufflers), and i think he has a upgraded performance module... the benz is 194 (or so) hp. supercharged 2.3L... the old man was supprised when i pulled away from him...

Yeah....its a 2wd reg cab short bed 1500 w/Hemi....I love the truck it's 100% stock....very easy to drive...not FAST when compared to the old Z but it's got enough spunk to have fun in....I'm gonna put dual straight pipes on it (after the cats) soon....it's way to quiet....I thought the stang would beat me...don't they run low 15's?

I don't think a V6 stang runs high 14's even with the best driver. They run more like mid 15's. A GTP that is supercharged with 240 hp will only run high 14's stock and they are a lot faster than a v6 mustang.
Hemi rams in extended cab form run 16.1's. Short cabs run 15.8's. V6 Stangs run 16.0-16.1. GTP's run 15.2's(motortrend) GST Eclipse runs 15.5. All good but with a bad driver, sorry you are not gonna run that time or times.

Thought you all might like this. The 2 door Ram is a solid performer. Here it races a SS truck. The SS bearly wins the race but its because of its 4 Wheel Drive system.
Road Test: 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Hemi vs. Chevrolet Silverado SS
Test Behavior
If you're used to driving big, torque-tuned pickups, you'd probably never guess just how quick a full-sizer can be. From zero to 60 mph, these two 2.5-ton beasts run like Pat Buchanan at an Eminem concert. The Chevy, its added weight apparently offset by its superior four-wheel-drive traction, has a slight edge, clicking off the run to 60 mph in 6.6 seconds, versus 6.8 for the Ram. Farther down the track, the small gap narrows. Our SS tripped the quarter-mile lights in 14.99 seconds at 89.05 mph; the Ram posted a nearly identical run of 15.11 seconds at 89.06. Such swiftness in a pickup truck is not only invigorating, it can be beneficial. The next time a buddy asks you to transport his couch, you can opt out simply by saying, "You ever seen what g forces do to Naugahyde?"

The Hemi is not a bad engine at all, it just simply was put in the wrong vehicle.
I am curious how my wife's 99 V6 Mustang does against a Hemi shortbed being they are supposed to be close.
I really do not understand these magazines talking about fast trucks and they forget about the Lightning. I could see if they were looking for the best performance $$ wise, but if your gonna put the SS truck in the sway of things, only right to put a Lightning in the fray.
