This happend several weeks ago, had two runs from a stop with a debadged white mustang. First run I did nothing but spin (Just had the new stall put in less than a week ago ), I got destroyed off the line. Second run I launched a little better and was ahead until he started creeping past me. Had to shut down fairly soon though.

I then found out I was pulling 10-12° of timing @ WOT because of false knock later that weekend! Since then I've put Mac's in and gotten the timing fixed too. It feels like a much stronger car now

 

now that the timings fixed what are you sitting around waiting for. go find the mustang and race it again.

i work for Hertz rent a car. and my boss is a die hard ford man. he bought 5 06 GT's. all i heard was how they will smoke my 95z. after him losing a bet to me being off for a week with pay i think he decided to respect the chevy. i didn't win by much but i consistantly beat him (4 times) never more than a car length. but hey i still won

I was very surprised by the new GTs. I ran into one on the highway and had a tough time getting by him. Basically pulled 2 cars from 60 to 140. Found out he had just basic boltons (at least thats what he would admit to). Intake and exhaust. It was also a 5 speed and still had the dealership plates on it.

 

I wasn't. My Mach 1 took one pretty easily.

 

Interesting...I drove a friends Mach 1 and its noticably slower than my Camaro. Perhaps the GT I raced had a lot more done to it than they are admitting.

Ditto. The increase in power seems to be completely offset by the increase in weight at lower speeds.

Not fully dialed in. Now that I have an infant, I haven't had any time to mess with the car.

Who knows, maybe I'll get to run it soon.
