Whoever said they couldnt, i dont remember sayin anything like that in this post. read before u jump down someones for no reason...Fact is a well driven 6spd LT1 will hit 13.7-8's@102..Yes Gts can hit those times but its not as common...auto 323 LT1's driven right will hit 13.8's-9's...MANY have done it on this board, so dont make it like its finding a needle in a haystack, just because you havent seen it doesnt mean it doesnt happen. Tell me what new stock auto GT does that..Blur is right, I guess hangin out on strickly LS1 boards could make u ignorant, gettin ls1 owners point of view on everything .. most of the guys in this section will atest that I do have a clue what im talkin about, maybe not agreeing all the time but none the less. Some of you Gts guys(steve Y, Mikie, Tim ) chime in here and tell me if im BS'in.

 

This is true stuff. The record for a stock 99+ GT is about 13.6 or 13.7 at 102ish. The record for a stock LT1 6-speed is about 13.4 at 102ish.

 

I find in all honesty that the 99+ Mustangs can hang but are much tougher to launch. I have yet to loose to one myself and have only seen them run 14.3 @ 98 best at California Speedway. 99 and 01 Cobras seem to be closer to 13.8-14.0. I haven't even seen 1 of the 3 99-01 cobras that go to my track (1-99, 2-01 models) run below 14.0.

Now mind I'm at 1300 ft, head wind 15 mph, and temps above 100 when witnessing this. But I'm hitting 13.9-14.0 @ 100 in those temps in my lowest rated 93 with cai, gear, and pcm.

Sephiroth- Come to my track with those times and you are spanking bone stock 03 Cobras, and hanging with the x pipe, pullied, et streets, cai, exhaust, diablo chipped ones that are running 12.6's @ 112. Nice times!

LOL.... so what's new? I've been reading the "GT vs LT1 vs LS1" debate for so long it's not funny any longer. Just know it's about driver when it's GT VS LT1....Their close enough but if the LT1 can drive and isn't ragged out (their aging) then the LT1 should win.
