First kill
First kill
I've had my car for about a month.....haven't really gotten to go out cruising on the weekends looking for people to play with....I was supposed to go meet some people for some semi-organized street racing tonight, but my best friend was unable to bring his car and I don't know the people organizing it so I chose not to go....it's every Saturday night so there's always next weekend....instead I just went cruising around my town. For some reason there were barely any cars that remotely looked like they were worth playing with....but on my way home I was desperate, so I saw this '93ish Probe on a four-lane divided highway...I rolled up next to him going the speed limit, (I could see he had some a-pillar gages that were lighting up like a frickin Christmas tree
) and gave it a little gas...he saw what I was doing so he floored it (I guess, LOL) and upshifted. I stood on my throttle and immediately gained about three cars on him......I got it up to 70 MPH on a 45 MPH road....I cooled it then and I let him catch up to me. When he was about a car length behind me I heard him hit his gas again and so I laid on mine again. I left him in my dust once again.
Not too much to get excited over (given my competition
), but it was my first sense of any kind of race on the street, so it's kinda cool for me. We ended up going twice, once from about a 35 MPH roll, then a second time from about 40-45 MPH.

And doing what I did tonight was especially stupid because it's graduation weekend around here and the cops are out in force. I'm damn lucky I didn't pass a cop going the other way when I got it up to 70 in a 45.

I never said racing in general wasn't dangerous.
What I did say was "why not just go to the track? Its legal and a ton safer"
Also most tracks have paramedics standing by.

There's another 1/8 mile track just north of here (no more than 20 miles) but I really wanna go to a 1/4. It's called Sumerduck Raceway.
