Finally lined up with a SC 05 Mustang
Finally lined up with a SC 05 Mustang
I was doing some final tuning on the new set up when I passed a white 05 mustang. He gave me a rev and it sounded pretty hefty, so I whipped around to catch up to him but he turned off on a side street pretty quick. So I looked down the street he took and found him waiting and the car was still running. I turned down the same street he took and then I saw the front mount IC for the blower
, so I said "yup I'm going to try him"
We both pull out and lined up right away without skipping a beat, I left it in 1st gear and so did he. He revs it a couple of times and I can hear the bi-pass valve on the SC. No honks he just nails it, then I hit it. He's bouncing off the rev limiter little bit, I'm spinning but still pulling on him then I shift to 2nd still with no traction and the car kicking sideways. Shifted to third and then I really start pulling on him hard and then we had to get out of it because of a stop light. Race was over that quick. Man, it felt good to get that first kill with the new set up. I'll be hitting the track this weekend because last weekend it was rained out.
He was really cool, we stopped and talked for about 30 minutes and popped are hoods. He thought I had NOS, so I let him peek under the hood. He said he was running 8psi of boost. It was a white 05 with a roush body kit rolling on some 18's, it was really clean. I enjoyed myself, I normally don't street race but I couldn't pass that up. Try your best to save it for the track.

Nice kill.
BTW how do you like that 383 with the Accel Pro RAM intake and the GM847. Ever dyno the car, where does it make peak power?? I wanna hear a little more about your setup. I was thinking about putting the Pro Ram on my Lt1 car about 6 months ago, it has my interest again.

T/A KID
I used to have Mini Ram intake before, but I got rid of it due to the poor air distribution. I would pull #'s 5, 6, 7, and 8 spark plugs and they would be darker than the front four cylinders. But every since I changed to a true single plane intake like the Pro-Ram, it's been sweet.
Now that all the tuning is done I'm hitting the track this weekend. I have yet to dyno, but my time slip will tell the story of how much power the car is making. To me, if you have a WB 02 sensor you do not need to go the dyno unless you want bragging rights of what your car makes. But like I said a WB 02 sensor and your time slip tells the story. Anyway the cost of you getting it dynoed, you can buy your own WB 02 and tune it yourself.
Don't get it twisted it took me over 3 years too figure that out. How to tune my own car that is! I just updated my web page, so checkout page 5 and read my first run with the mini ram 6 months ago after break in.
