Finally got a race....but don't know what it was
This'll be the first time I've posted a kill on this site in 2 years. Hope y'all don't get mad since it was an Fbody, but I need some help figuring out what I raced
Here goes. I'm getting on the on ramp to the highway. This particular ramp is a long, sweeping, S curve leading to about a 1/4 mile straight before you have to merge. As I turn onto the ramp I notice a white vert. Firebird get on behind me and immediately start tail gating. Looked to be a LT1. Definitely louder than stock as well. So he's behind me, revving pretty hard..... and I'm in second at about 3k rpms. I decide to floor it as that's my sweet spot and I know this road like the back of my hand. I spin for a second as the boost pegs 17 psi. I left him pretty quick but had to slow down because the wife starts bitching that I'm taking the turn too fast. We hit the straight part and prepare to merge. No traffic, and he's on my butt again, so I hit it again at about 3k rpm in 3rd. By 90 I'm on the highway and about 4-5 cars ahead so I slow down as to avoid being yelled at again (my wife had no idea we were racing as I always drive pretty stupid
). So I'm down to about 75 when the Firebird comes roaring by me. As he's pulling his flyby, I see he's got 2 big (probably 4") exhaust tips and a WS6 badge! Problem is, there was no type of ram air on the front that I thought came on all ws6's. I didn't follow as I had to get off the hway right away, but I'm wondering was this a wannabe or did older WS6's look the same as the regular Firebirds?

I got a good look at his hood....he was riding my *** for a bit. This was not the same hood as the firehawk. There were no inlets at all.....looked like a regular firebird...except for the red ws6 badge on the back. Sounds like this guy just stuck a badge on it....as quickly as I left it...it could have been a dressed up v6 for all I know. Although this is my first race in the 300 so I don't have any comparison. What are the numbers on an older ws6?

Thx. I'm enjoying mine a lot....it's a nice switch from the muscle car feel of the Vette......and there's nothing as fun as tinkering with a turbo 6 imo.

Yeah, they're fun to work on... but my only beef was the difference between one part and another.
I'm used to a GM, where one socket can get through an entire installation or removal... on the Japanese cars, I was constantly switching.
A minor complaint considering, but it was aggravating at times.
