2002 Z28 Vs 99 Formula

My mods are below, the formula is my buddy Dave, he has a Lid, a Mass Airflow sensor, and a throttle body. Also he has some Kumo Drag radials. So we took off from the line and he spun little if at all, as did I spin little but I did spin for a moment, and he pulled on me instantly, then kept his lead of a carlength for the duration of the race (85-90mph)... Now I'm wondering why he's getting such a good lead when I have many more power-mods? Is it his jump from the tires?

A z06 intake manifold will fix that problem overnight. In fact, you might put 1/2 a car or so on HIM. They feed off of mods like headers and work together. Try cleaning your air filter too, that can be a real killer... lol

You should have pulled up to him or pulled close . he would definitly get a jump with drag radials . Actually , from the momentum he built off then line , that may have been enough for him to beat you . but I would bet your car is faster . Pull up too him from a roll and see if you dont walk him some . You should walk him some w/headers .

Actually he says the formula was his buddy's and since he lost to it I'd think the reference to the "Z06 manifold" helping out were directed to the 2002.

Hehe. Well I think the 2.73's are what is killing me. I think I'll upgrade the gears and see if I can't get abit faster aye? Maybe some intake work to help those headers out abit.

well the way i see it he has the same mods except headers, better gears and tires to back them up.

i can see why it was an even race.

3.73's and drag radials will cure that dilema quick. or try out some suspension stuff first. LCA's and relocation brackets will make a big difference.
