GSX-Rs are Suzukis, and they scream...I think you will get beat; dig, roll, whatever. You got a quick car, but if memory serves me those things do 10's stock. Could be wrong but I'm pretty sure.

75 mph roll(3rd gear). And watch the results

And get video. Im trying to host a vid of me vs a 05 600rr and a 750cc zx-7r. And my car is untuned cam and with 3 severely burned plug wires and still running nitrous plugs with no ignition box

Re: Do I have a chance against a bike?

So race him from a 75 mph roll and i may have a chance? I dont really car, i just want a comparison as to how fast my car is. For some reason it doesn't seem to pull like it should, but i think that is just because i can tell or feel a difference on most things unless they are extremes.

thanks guys

Get him from a roll at whatever speed your car runs the best, in my car it would be a 65 roll in 3rd gear.

They will destroy you from a dig, but if you get him in your sweet spot you might have a chance.

those bikes run high 10's from the factory... i doubt you have any chance from a dig or a roll

Bikes slow down tremendously after the wind starts hitting them. I both ride/drive on a regulaur basis. He does have a chance especially against a stock bike from a roll.

Edit: And yeah i dunno what gear you should be in, i still have 3.42's so pick a decent speed and make sure you are at a good RPM.

I drag race both an old bike and an old vette. IMHO, the bike will eat you alive from any speed except right out of the hole up to about 5 MPH if you can hook up, as the bikes are geared kinda high and GSXRs aren't known for bottom end torque, and above the terminal velocity of the bike, which I'm guessing is about 170 mph.

If the rider on that bike is any good, you won't stand a chance from any speed.

Most people that bring up aerodynamics as their arguement always point to a bike's higher coefficient of drag, while completely neglecting the other half of the equation: frontal area - something which a car has far more of.

Jim we all know that. However im just speaking from real world experiences. Not benchracing

The guy i raced the other night on the '05 600rr rapes me from a stop or 1st gear roll. But from a faster roll i walk him. The 7r stays on pace with me. And my car is not running anywhere near where it could.

All I know is in the real world...bike running 10's@135-140 mph all of a sudden do not pull like a mid 12 second car just because your going from a roll....go from a 60 mph roll...by the time your at 100 mph, he will be at 140 mph...guess you pulled him down?

Nor do they pull like a 135-140 mph car. I think that's the reason the 'go from a roll' argument comes up a lot when the subject of a car running a bike comes up.

My buddy used to run right with ~ 118-120 mph bikes on the freeway in his 112-113 mph car. It happens, but it surely isn't as dramatic as saying a 135-140 mph bike will accelerate like a mid 12 second car at high speeds. That's just stupid.

Re: Do I have a chance against a bike?

I know you own a bike. But your comment of saying he absolutely stood no chance is not true. I know because bikes are the only thing i ever toy with in my car anymore.

Besides...how many riders do you actually know, that know exactly what they are doing on a bike?

The rolleyes wasnt really meant to be an insult but just a reminder of you flat out saying its impossible, that in fact it is possible and that not all the time does how fast a bike in the 1/4 mean what it will do from a roll. And that i acomplished running a 750 supersport the other night with a passenger.
