Damn those LS1's are fast.

A buddy i go to school with (well not really a buddy, he's kind of a jerk) has an '01 Z28 with various mods, from what I can tell its cammed, has at least midlength headers and bullet exhaust. I'd bet money that it's also programmed and has a CAI of some kind. It's also got a lid. Also, i know he's got some form of gears and a 12 bolt because he's running DR's and pizza cutters up front, and i KNOW the stock 10 bolt couldn't hold that. This guy can light 'em up at 50MPH without a second thought.

Jesus, we were going home from school at the same time and we were pulling onto the 101 North in the Oxnard area and he just TOOK OFF, i couldn't believe it. He went from 30 to 80 in like 2 seconds... I caught up to him when he hit traffic but i was never able to get ahead of him... we finally hit an open road stretch and he punched it and I almost crapped myself. I punched it and it was just a lost cause, he got so many car lenghts so fast it was discouraging. This is also when i found out it was a 6 speed, hearing him drop it from 6th to 3rd. Oh damn... Those cars are FAST as hell.

But you're comparing your car against a car with unknown modifications. For all you know, it has ported heads too. A heads/cam/full bolt-ons LT1 can be just as fast -- once you start modding, going faster just means spending more money.
