Damn Lincoln Mark VIII are fast

was cruisin around and this kid jeff i use to go to school with drove up on me with a 98 lincoln mark VIII LSC. So i figured what the heck he was in the mood to do a light to light and since there was no one around i went for it. WHOA that car is fast. For being the boat that it is i got him by maybe a foot if that. And they do a pretty sweet burnout. Just goes to show i guess you never know whats out there.

They've got the DOHC Cobra engine with ~ 280hp. LSC means a better rear end (I forget the exact ratio). Kill the traction control and they'll burn rubber till you let off.

The LSC's have 290 hp and a 3.27 gear set over the regular 3.07's. They are maybe a half second slower stock than a A4 LT1. My old 94 Mark VIII ran a 14.651 at 97.21 at Cecil county back in '06. Gears and a converter woud have put the car around 14 flat. Second Gen cars are a touch slower.

They had one running around with nitrous for a while a few years back. It surprised the hell out of alot of people

Maybe your car needs a tuneup or more mods.

I always liked the look of those.

Is there a full-size spare under that tire hump?

A 98 LSC, fast? They run neck and neck with a stock 5.0 Mustang - high 14s in the mid 90s with ideal conditions.

My mother's Hyundai Azera turns the same numbers with its FWD v6. We had a 95 Mark VIII and a 97 LSC, both pearl white. The platform has great potential as a good touring coupe. I think we'd all agree the DOHC mod motor has a proven aftermarket.

It's hard to find clean examples today. Most have been ragged out and need serious work.

No full size spare.

These are fun cars....I have one right now as my daily driver. They are quick and get great mpgs! ( 26mpg) Not too shabby for a 12yr. old V8 car....

Yessir, they're a nice ride... Fairly quick with a finely appointed leather interior... What's not to like, beyond that whole 'Ford' thing... ?
