corvette race
While I may not look like a complete idiot racing a C5, I know there's no way for me to beat one with a competent driver.
Lighter weight + better top end + better aerodynamics = see Vette taillights.
Forced induction and heads and cams, etc. are the key here. I don't think bolt-ons are gonna cut it.
Slicks + stall = you might be able to scare the Vette from a light.

I think a full bolt on lt1 could take a stock c5 from a stop. But from a roll it wouldn't stand a chance. But that doesn't mean it can't happen.

Back when our 96Z was a full bolt on car, we would whoop on automatic corvettes from a roll. Manual cars were different, sometime we won, but most times it was even or they just plain out edge us out.
on the highway from a 70mph roll my car does pretty well against them. i just wanted to know why if they were just quick off the line or if they didn't pick up speed until after 140 or so.

Just curious, how do ls1 camaros (stock) fair against (stock) ls1 corvettes. Manual or auto

well here is where my dilemma is. i know the corvettes have more hp than me and they weigh less and have better aerodynamics, well when does all of that effect the cars? at what speed will they start to take off from me, really take off from me?
