Cool Track Vid: 700+rwhp LS1 v.s. Stroked/Juiced Mustang
These are both local guys here in VA. There was a big BS thread going on over at www.DragVA.com in the Central VA section between these two guys.
After seeing the way the guy with the Mustang acted online, I am sorry to say I'm his friend. I know David too, as I'm sure some of you do to. Even though I'm not a fan of David or his car, "Mighty Mouse", he definately handled the situation A LOT better than my buddy.
They are supposed to run again here as soon as the F'n rain stops. David was supposedly in "street trim" and the guy with the Stang only had 100 jets in. The motor is suppose to be able to handle 200+. He ran a 11.02 in the vid btw.
Nonetheless, a cool vid-

His car runs pretty good, but he's been through about 6-7 motors because he kept blowing them. For the $$ hes got in the car, he should be faster. Also, if he could drive he'd be in the solid 9s. He's trapped almost 140 on low boost/street tires...

thanks for the compliments guys. yea it sux the track doesnt have time clocks.. im just happy its 1/4 mile.
stub25.. what do you think it should run if 139 in the traps is not enough for you? did you miss the part where it was in complete street trim? has been a 10.46 on a 1.75 60' on hoosiers so far... they spin too
oh and it was definitely in 'street trim' the way i drive it to and from work every single day. had my subwoofer and amp in back, car cleaning supplies etc. i did not even check or lower the tire pressures. the idea is i wanted to see what the car does just as you would run into it on the road. and 138.4mph in 10.78 seconds is the answer.. follow me?
jon there are some common misconceptions from one person who likes to spread bad press about me/my car
couple adjustments to my combination from above.
compression is about 9:1, intake is stock ls6, not ported., clutch is spec s4. driveshaft is denny's steel. axles are 33 spline & gears are 3.42 now.
it has done 765 on pump gas and methanol, and 775 on 115 octane race fuel. both at 16 psi. the car has only been raced as high as 15psi so far.
for the record this is my 4th engine in the car right now and i only 'blew up' one.
my original motor cracked a piston, work was done at more performance to put a set of pistons in. then that motor broke a rod. after that i had a heads and cam motor that developed a knock and was replaced with a low compression motor which the heads/rods/crank i still use now. early this season the ls1 block was swapped for a stronger ls6 block when the motor was still running.
i came out of all of the above actually purchasing a new engine exactly 1 time thanks to ARE. they understand that these are the type of setbacks that are expected when things are being tried that have not been done before.
yea i guess the car runs pretty good
i think 139 is fast for the money in it and it can certainly be quicker depending on what parts of having a street car i sacrifice.. like the manual transmission or the interior lets say.
thanks for posting the vid and supporting me too btw.
see you around the 'ville. sorry you are not a fan

different strokes.Sup Dave. Well, to be honest, a lot of the "misconceptions" I listed were things that I was told a year or two ago (whenever it was that I was hanging out with the club) by some of the guys IN the club. Brandon doesn't spread "misconspections", what he says most of the time is just straight up BS plain and simple.
But I'll give credit where credit is due, your car is riding and you've been faster than I have ever been. Kudos for being the better man over on the other site. Seems like everyone is a foot taller and 150lbs heavier behind a keyboard
...See ya' around...

Nice vid
A 138 trap should put you in the nines. My bud here runs an LX notch back mustang and run a 9:72 at 140. Don't know his 60ft..
The LSI may be a little heavier as well but the trap speed don't lie.. The MPH is there ofr 700 RWHP easy. Good job!
I hate when people say "why are you not running faster?" Tires, (could be street but not in this case) traction, letting off gas all factors in on alot of runs. Guessing gets annoying at times.

car went 9.92 at 144 and change on tire a couple saturdays ago at the same boost settings as that night against the mustang and in warmer air... just good 60'.
i still have oem heads, block, intake so it is starting to seem supra'ish' at 800rwhp.
