What kind of numbers do the earlier cobras put out(hp, et and such) I have a friend shopping for one and I want to now what kind of competion he'll be. He's mainly looking at a 99 svt cobra and a 95 years close to that to.

 

94-95's (5.0) were rated at 245 hp (I believe) ran mid to higher 14's stock...96-98's (dohc)were rated at 305 hp and generally ran high 13's stock...99/01's (dohc) were rated at 320 hp and could hit mid 13's @ 105 w/ a good driver.

 

I'm pretty sure that you have the '96-'98 cobra wrong I believe they were rated at 285 hp and the 99-01 were rated at 305 as for et times i have no idea and why are you letting him buy a pos mustang the cobra are way overpriced for being as fast as a camaro

 

I am going to have to back Antz on the Cobra specs, those seem right on.

actually he is right 95 cobra 240hp with 285 torque, 99 cobra 320hp with 315 torque.

 

Who cares, whatever he gets youll still beat him....I hope

 

We don't know what he has done to his car, and a stock LT1 would get beaten by a 99 or newer. The other 4.6s are a good race, and the 5.0s can be beaten.

To each his own, thats your opinion.There not overpriced considering how they hold their resale value compared to a fbody..99 and some 01's can be had for LS1 prices

 

There are many times I wish I would have gotten a POS Mustang.
Mainly when I open a Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords and see the plethora of parts they have that are simply dirt cheap
