Cobalt SS

Time to chalk up #2 on the board. Beat another Cobalt SS in Philly the other night. I put about 2-3 car lengths on him in the beginning & it stayed that way the whole time. I think I've finally found my sweet spot with launching the Buick. I asked him to go again & he turned it down. Can't wait to buy a pulley & some other stuff.

Re: Cobalt SS

Neat little cars...I put them on the same level as SRT-4's.

Still waiting to see one at a track.

Re: Cobalt SS

Had one at the Quaker track rental earlier this year Jason - went 14.30's pretty consistent. Young kid - not sure if he knew how to drive or whatever but that was the times it was running.

Re: Cobalt SS

Raced one in the SRT-10 a few weeks ago. Put 2 cars on him from 60-100. Pretty quick cars from a roll.

Simply because its faster...Cobalt runs mid 14's, srt-4 is good for a 13.9 w/ a good driver

Re: Cobalt SS

The SRT-4's around here are running low 14's stock...hardly eating them alive imo.

Re: Cobalt SS

Yea I would say the SRT is a little fast than the Cobalt stock, but not a whole lot.

To be honest I could careless about either of those car...Is that the same track years ago where ls1's ran low 14's high 13's stock? Ive seen srt 4's run 13.9's stock...havent seen these glorified cavaliers run yet..though every test compared to srt there considerbly slower.

Re: Cobalt SS

I call it as I see it...though the asswipe was out of line. That was not needed and I apologize.

I did not say your were lying and you start pulling cars that have nothing to do with the thread into it? Why? Over a few tenths that can easily vary based on weather and/or elevation?

IMO...eating alive is something like what a 9 second car does to a 14 second car...eh?

Re: Cobalt SS

from my experience, the cobalt ss' pull decent (for what it is) from a roll. A friend of a friend has one, and he pulled 14.5 @ 100 mph with a cold air intake. For comparison's sake, at the same track on the same day, our other friend's M5 '05 GT ran 101 mph. The SRT4 is noticeably faster than the SS.

The SRT4 puts down about 50 more pounds of torque at the wheels over the SS.
