I was there helping my brother in law prepare the car this weekend and it ran a 13.20 at 104mph with a 2.0 60ft. Were talking bone stock down to the paper air filter, on the stock 235-55-17 tires. This individual is a way above average driver and has been a past trophey stock, and Modular champion. We did do a little weight reduction to the vehicle but nothing drastic. Our goal was to get a baseline on the car before modifications.
How much is a LITTLE weight reduction?? Congrats on the times... but I would be interested in hearing how much weight was dropped...considering the only person close to those times has a much better 60ft and lower traps...
A/C,back seat,spare tire and jack.

in all seriousness, the '05 GT is a pretty quick car with either transmission. i have had a chance to play around with one in the LS1 and they are deffinetly no slouches. from what i have heard, they are often running mid 13's or so. i would say that the GT will edge you out with either transmission.

i raced one on the freeway pulled him the hole way maybe one and a half cars then went to the street he got me out the hole and by third gear i rolled right past him. there weak they have always been only roush and saleen get love!

the reason the 05 GT cant burn out is the stupid computer wont allow it. If the computer detects that wheel speed and RPM dont match it drops revs....Kinda stupid that you cant do a burn out but int he commercials it shoe people doin it....Stupid car companies want to sell cars by showing the power of them but dont want you to use it or imitate their advertising!

That's call traction control. and I had it turned off.
